I've been meaning to start a build thread since I joined. The Ol' Harry story is finally starting to come along. He now has a 400 small block and a turbo 350 tranny. I lowered the front end 2 inches by cutting the springs in front. The back is lowered 4 inches with the help of springs. The paint I recently sprayed. Its matte black and the green is a creation of to many or not enough beer depending on your taste. I was originally going to go black and burlap to match the bed cover that I am in the process of doing which is burlap some chain link fence and 3/4" conduit. I will post the cover pictures when that project is finished. In the time being enjoy some current pics!

no Ansel Adams am I

I have started to fab up my bed cover. I started by drilling 3/4" holes in the bed for the conduit. I then remed them out to allow the conduit to be inserted into the bed. There are 3 pieces of conduit cut to length with a handy dandy pipe cutter. I then drilled several ok ok tons of holes in the front bed rail and inserted wire through them to hold the chain link fence that will hold the burlap. Used safety wire pliers to twist the wire taunt through the fence. With the fence attached at the front of the bed I layed the fence over the conduit to develop the basic shape. I then wired the fence halves together to make one giant fence section. That is far as I got today before I had to go to work at midnight. I must say that my neighbors are awesome and that they didn't once complain about the sounds of the compressor going and the air drill. Witch I must shamelessly must plug. I have an old school stainless black and decker air drill that is amazing. I will include it in the pictures. The pictures will be posted after I take them. I do have wireless internet in my shop. I how ever did not have my camera's charger in the shop. That was left at work from the last update pictures that I posted. I am at work now but on my lunch/dinner break. What ever you call a 4am meal is anyway.

start of burlap bed cover

This is the start to the cover photo's. It is coming along nicely the fence stretched better then I thought that it would. I used a ratchet strap and pulled taunt then wired into place. Shreeded a pair of gloves in the process. Oh well better the gloves then my hands. The fence I had laying around from my new fence. The burlap bags I went through piles of them to find something unique for the old guy. well anyway enjoy.
