This has nothing to do with anything on here but,
wondered what opinions (if any) you guy's have on
zero turn mowers? My back yard is a pretty good
hill and wondered if zt's would work well on hills?
I don't want a walk behind, (too lazy), or old,
however you want to look at it!
I was thinking of getting a Hustler Fast Trac, maybe
42 to 54 inch cut! Any opinions would be welcomed,
Thanks ahead of time, have at it!!!:D[P:D

I did landscaping for a few years and I personally like bobcat zero turns along with the scag ones. Just my .02 - they come in various sizes, parts are readily available and I've never had an issue with reliability as long as you maintain them (ie. blow off old grass from the top of the deck, out of the motor area and little areas along with oil changes, belt changes and oils.)

I don't care for them myself. I prefer the lawn tractor style. As for using one on a hill, I've heard they do all right going up or down hill, but try to slide when doing a hill crossways. My 42" Craftsman lawn tractor does a good job anywhere I put it.

I'm with you on a push mower, I'm too old and lazy for those!

Best bet for hills, at least the technique I used to use was going backwards up them, then forwards down them obviously - keeps the weight (usually motor on the back) at the best angle so you don't have concerns of flipping.

Giant hills on everyones lot where I live...Including mine....all of the landscapers use zero turn....no problems....I have a tractor....SUCKS!

Thanks guys, I've used a lawn tractor and flipped it,
more than once!! I'm not doing that any more!! Plan
on going up and down, not side to side!! Hustler,
John Deere, Skag, that was my top three, but Exmark,
and Big Dog are also in the running!!
What do you think?

BTW tecster, I like the Bob Cat too, just don't know
anyone who has had one!!

I've got a Grasshopper zero turn and absolutely love it. I live on a hill side and have no problems any direction.
Have a Snapper 50" lawn tractor that hasn't been out of the barn since I bought the Grasshopper.
I can mow the 2 acre lawn, in about half the time I could on the lawn tractor. Leaves more time for the shop.

I've got a Cub Cadet LZ Tank with the welded deck, 54 " cut, and it's better than any other mower that i've ever owned. They are rather pricey but worth the money. If you buy a zero turn get the welded deck and not the stamped steel deck, will last forever.

I've got just the thing for you.

That thing is pretty cool.

A lot of people here are using snappers and the aliens brand is coming up.

If you have the money a scag or a walker is the way to go.

Down here in FL we don't have a lot of hills but we have a lot of commercial use due to retirement communities so mowers are big business here.
