So how did it ride? It looks killer. Nice job.
This little baby tracks straight, steers easy and rides like a dream
I love it!!!

I'm really digging that Hot Rod Flatz colour on the engine.

How does that paint spray, any different than regular urethane? Do you know if it's pretty durable?
The paint seems to be pretty durable. It sprays super easy.
It would be hard to make it run.
Thanks everyone for following along :)
As Peabody recoups, some disposable income, we will be continuing to refine this little darlin [P :D
This GMC got a lot of attention at the car show yesterday and will today.
Peabody is like an ape in a berry patch driving it [ddd

Perfect! What more could you ask for?

That's what it's all about. It makes all the money and time spent on these old hooptys worth it.

You done good Man!!

Folks, the little GMC is Sweet !
We had to adjust a few things. Namely the clutch and brake pedals.
My bad hips, didn't allow me to be able to lift my leggs high enough.
Jims adjustments helped alot.
Driving it. Is like nothing I've ever experienced in my life.
Its so cool !! We'll raise the seat three inches.
That will surely help. Jim says.
The four speed tranny. . Yes its fun.. but we all laughed, she's so high geared .. it feels like your starting off in third.
:quote: by jim....lol
Another thing , jim say we'll try.. or give it a shot.
Is swap to a turbo 350 auto tranny.
That will give my big clod hoppers feets more room too.
All in all.. extremely pleased with jim and Erics work.
And the help from the other guys, that didn't have to.
But they jumps in to help. Get the little jimmy ready for the
Show in Springfield mo.
Big thanks to eddie, john and john. And don.
Craig. And one or two others i believe.
The show was great..
I enjoyed it very much.
But then , disaster struck..
Of all things.. was sitting in a lawn chair.
Laughing at some of the funny crazy talk from the guys.
And was trying to get out of the chair.
John helped pull me up.
Somethings pops in my left hip.
Wasent too awful. .
But i knew something wasn't right.
Kinda tried to ignore it..
Went to bed at home..
Woke up in the middle of the night with the most horrible
Leg cramp I've ever known.
And pulled something loose, needless to say.
I'm down for the count.
Till i can get to a doctor.
If it weren't fer bad luck, I'd have no luck at all !!!

I vote for seeing a good chiropractor to pop it back in place. Sending good vibes your way PB. Thanks for sharing with us.

wow what a great result (not the hip :) ) the details are great and anyone who has ever turned a non-running project into a running project in a short amount of time knows what a herculean effort this was. very beautiful work OI, enjoy your truck peabody!

I looked at a 36 cab and grille last night and this truck makes a staggeringly fabulous case to make myself a hotrod. Mine would have fenders, but everything else is perfection.

All in all, a little tweeking is expected from one just put on the road...now, go get that hip tweeked and take her easy! Truck looks great! Cong rats to you Peabody on a fine ride! Old Iron did a fine job...but we all expected that...[cl

Take care of yourself, Peabody!

Manual transmissions are fun, but these old cabs are pretty tiny to be rowing gears. I was contemplating doing a manual when I build my Model A Roadster Pickup, then I realized it will only be fun for about 3 days. Automatics are still fun, because you're driving a wild old truck!

Thanks a million for all the kind words !!
But ?
I'm sure ya'll know this feeling ?
On the way back to old irons place...
Cruising up the 4 lane....
There was jim in his 33 pontiac. .
John in his 34 pontiac. .
And little ol' me in my gmc..
....
We was passing each other, making noise. . And oh !! Wow!!
I felt like a 16 year old again !!
Johns pontiac blew by me like the silver bullet. . I speed up and cruise next to old iron...
Side by side..
And EVERYONE is looking ...ha!
And its funy ?
Jim looks like a teenager, behind the wheel of his 33...
It was exhilarating! !!
I'm soooooo looking forward to a road trip..
:D:D
I'm pretty sure , i didn't have to explain this to you guys..
It was simply fantastic! !

I just found this build and read it all.

Gotta admit, it made me a little jealous when you took it for a test ride without a hitch.

Nice work [cl[cl[cl

Here's the Lokar shifter I used for the auto swap.
I also put the wood in the bed from my ole barn I''m gonna tear down.
