[cl Wife said she would buy me a plasma cutter for Christmas. Any suggestions on a good small portable unit? Preferably 230V, inverter equipped, to cut 3/8-1/2 steel max. [
We have a Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38 and it does a good job, but I hate using it because of all the sparks it tosses.......most of them down my shoes. Maybe I haven't played with it enough to learn how to use it, but I still have scars on top of both feet from the hot sparks.
Don
are you going to be using it every day in a fab shop type setting, or for hobbyist / tinkering / project cars?
This will probably make a difference in what you buy... no use in spending $1500 or more on a plasma that you're only going to use one day a month when it's built for a production factory... and how many times are you really going to need to cut anything over 1/2" thick?
