I've made lots of progress when it doesn't look like any. Today, the reassembly started. I got my split wishbone kit installed and the front end all bolted to the frame, new tierod ends in. Also got the center section mounted in the 9" housing. By the end of the week I hope to have it a roller. I have to take time out for a colonoscopy Tuesday. Also waiting on my machinist to finish my tranny adapter and machine some off my intake.

It's been a while, for those who forgot what I was building...

WB, that looks really good. I know those are Rader wheels on the back, but trying to place the two bar version. Are those the ones Sears sold years ago or something else ? In any case I like them a lot.

Don

Don, not sure if they were sears but these are Fenton Hawks. I am supposed to have a pair of 14s coming for the front, guy in ND has them and his kid is going to drop them off.
I was going to trade with my neighbor for a 4.11 for my 3.70. He brought it over and it turned out to be a 31 spline, not the 28 so I'll be running the 3.70. A little tall for what I wanted but the 4 banger T5 has a real low first, around 4:1 IIrc. Still leaves me at a 2.96 in 5th.

All I got done yesterday was dropping off the windshield frame to get the glass cut. The old dude scrounged around and found some pieces of the old green tinted safety glass from the 50s. His son just did a job with that chicken wire glass and has some left over but he didn't want to cut that for my windshield, not DOT approved I guess.

WOW, This rod is looking great! I have not seen your build thread, did you have one? what body or bodies is that made from? I along with others really like the windshield, with that old glass it will be killer. Keep the pics coming.

I don't think I actually had a build thread, just random threads on different parts.
Sawzall, I built the body from several different parts. The cowl was originally a 29 Ford 4 door, the back of the tub a 26-27 T touring and the doors were back doors from like a 23-24 T touring that I modified quite a bit. The door thresholds and top of the cowl were carved out of a 77 thunderbird hood. Windshield frame of unknown origin, $1 swap meet special with 3 inches chopped out and I VEEd it myself, built the cowl up to fit.
Here's a few other threads with some details
