Info from a friendly dude at the "trad" hot rod site

I asked him about his setup for a '26 Tudor that looked great.

It's a '57 Ford 9", I believe it's about 57" from drum to drum. Not sure how much narrower I'd go with it, it is kind of close to the body if you have the axle at a severe angle.

You could go with a 90-92 Ranger 8.8, which is 56.5" or a 93-09 Ranger which is 58.5". I put a Ranger in my Studebaker wagon, and I'm pretty happy with it; they are easy to find and parts are cheap.

All are great axles

I have used a Ranger axle as well.It was a 7.5 but never gave any problems.Probably better to use the 8.8.
Of course the 1957 9 inch is top dog,if you can find one.You can`t break a 9 inch without a lot of power.
I am using a 1969 Mustang 8 inch in mine.[;)
