I finally got my new camera figured out. Here is the 54 R100. My plans for it aren't settled yet but I am thinking a 302/C4 from a 71 Econoline, and I also have a 3.55 Explorer rear end. I was surprised to find all the brake parts on rockauto for about $250, and that includes new wagner wheel cylinders and master cylinder. I do need to patch that hole in the roof where the mice had a nest.
Lordy these binders need chopped!

Looks like a pretty solid truck.Too bad those mice did that damage tho. I always find the parts for the old vehicles to be cheaper then stuff for the new ones.Like the ball joints for my 04 Silverado at @100 bucks a piece, and thats for crappy Taiwan made ones.I can by several for the older vehicles for that price.

I probably won't do much on it until spring, or at least some decent weather. First things first I am going to start the titling process, clean out the mice and get on some tires that hold air. I have a 302/C4 in an old 71 Ford motorhome out at the ranch so I need to get that drivetrain extricated. Drop in the engine, go through the brakes, get a few lights working and drive it. Thoughts for wheels right now is a set of steel cop car wheels from an 80s-90s Crown Vic.

Pretty cool

I love the looks of a well chopped roofline, BUT, that said, i also love the big ass roof line.. I rarely chop roofs on my cars, because I just love the look of the big old high ceiling. Beside, that and the fact that I am 6'5", I like the headroom. Makes ya feel like you are driving a cathedral, lol.. I say keep the roof line the way it is would be my vote (altho might not be a popular one) [cl

And, I have always loved the old IH... I restored a 1966 IH Scout 800 years ago. I LOVED that thing. Had the old IH slant 4 banger in it.. 0-60 in about 4 (days), but lots of tourqe.

That's a nice solid looking truck to start. Best of luck with your buildup and keep us posted![P

My $.02, I'd leave the roof AND body ENTIRELY stock! Nothing wrong with having an old truck with some extra heat under the hood that you're not afraid to use as a truck!:D

Shea:)

P.S. edit: If you want to use Crown Vic wheels all around, you'll need to change out the front brakes/hubs. I believe the old IHC's are the BIG Ford 5x5 1/2" bolt circle. Maybe Rev Muddy Grimes could chime in for sure on that one....

That looks like a pretty straight old truck. Keep us posted.

I second that:eek: It looks incredibly straight for a farm truck. Maybe that grille guard and big back bumper saved it. Ten years ago this '54 Five Window was my daily driver, it came from your neck of the woods and was super solid...not a rust hole one....but EVERY panel on it had at least one dent in it:eek:

....Sold it to a neighbor and he ruined it :D
