Probably over kill but that's the way I like my trailers. Should last me the rest of my life.

Kinda silly to build something like this just so cows can crap and p!ss all over it. Did I mention I like a good beef steak?

I sand blast to bare metal, 2 coats of epoxy primer then use Tractor and implement paint from Tractor Supply. Their paint is cheap and will last a good 10 to 15 years, about as long as the floor does usually.

Yesterdays entertainment consisted of cutting the sheeting for the sides and getting it spotted in. Typical day in the shop. I got the first sheet cut and while moving it the second sheet rolled off the roller table and tried to cut off my leg. A 4x10 ft sheet of 14ga cold roll is almost more than I could get back on the table by my self. Finally got it back up and discovered my math skills are lacking. Need one more sheet for the side doors and divider gate.

Glad to hear you're ok. Sand blasting definitely makes the paint stay on. Our new trucks at work lose their paint after a year of plowing snow. I think it's because the mill scale never gets removed.

Spent the last couple of days building gates and hanging them.
I managed to put the side gate latches on bass ackwards. Got that redone So I decided to do something else for a while. Pulled the trailer outside, cleaned the shop and changed to oil in the '47. Took the bride to lunch.
Tomorrow's a new day...

We have pasture below the irrigation ditch. Above the ditch it's pretty much no mans land.

After the steel delivery today I've got $4283.69 in material. Haven't kept track of the hrs I've got in it. I just ran out of wire for the welder again today. That makes 65 lbs of welding wire.

Thanks Old Iron. I was enjoying this project until I set it up for the sand blasting. Now it's a whole lot like work.

It will be interesting to see how much this thing weighs. I'm thinking around 3000 lbs. We will see soon.

Today I got the rest of the sheeting finished up,cut my brand into the neck gussets, welded them in, got the front brace tubes in and got the fenders almost finished. I recruited some help for a couple of days for some much needed and appreciated help of a good friend who is an awesome welder. I was cutting and fitting and he was welding. And waiting on me part of the time. Trying to get ready for the sand blasting guy Friday.

I've always wanted 4' access doors on both sides. I can unload pallets of feed with my skid steer. Saves handling it by hand. I've feel like I might be getting old or something.
