Ya'll need to find Dr. cranks explanation and read it again. It was the best tutorial for posting pix on this forum. If a dummy like me understood it....

Thanks guys. Small Foot; I must be a lot dumber than you, I used it the Doctors tutorial. I even printed it out so I could follow it as I go. Some times I get it to work most times I don't. My daughter said she would print something up for me with screen shots so it may be easier. That hasn't happened yet so we'll see. Tonight I worked on the steering column. It came out of a mid 80s F150, it's a tilt column from a floor shifted truck. After fixing the linkage for key and ignition switch I found I had way too much play in the bearings in the top section. I will look into that another night. No pics tonight. I've had enough for one day.

Dash

Ok. I got my daughter to load some of my pics. The 1940 Studebaker instrument panel came. I decided to go with a six gauge set. I'm thinking dolphin with a gps speedo. I cut the panel face out and made a frame out of 1/4 inch and 3/16 round stock and tacked it in. This will allow me to put in a panel that leans back at the top and hopefully give me enough room for 3 3/8 gauges. I have a couple options for the 4 gauges for the vitals. I haven't decided yet.

Spreader bar

I had a little time so I reboxed the frame horns, I had to narrow them to fit the grill between. I also started building a spreader bar. I cut up An old push bar that was in the scrap pile. I cut it in half on an angle and welded it together in a V, I drilled and tapped to pieces of 1/4 inch flat stock and will bolt them through the horns after I weld in some 3/8 tubes and cap the ends of the horns.

New spreader bar

I boxed in the ends of the frame horns and decided I didn't like the angle of the spreader bar nor the position it was mounted in. I decided to start over and make new longer mounting plates and a bar with a deeper V so I could point it down more. Here it is.
