Headlights and mounts
Worked on headlight buckets and mounts. Fit the headlight mounts in the bucket, shrunk the headlight bezels to fit the lights tight so they would hold the lights in. Had to reverse the mounts because the studs aimed too far back. I added 1/8 ring behind the the bezel so I can blend the bezel into the bucket wit body filler. made mounts out of 1/4" plate that I pressed into a cup shape to fit the ball mount of the bucket. then I ran round stock to the rear bung of the shock mount. I know they are way overkill but it was the only way I could make them match on both sides, then I added the curved piece of round stock at the top to tie it together. Still have some holes to fill and welds to finish up. I think they came out pretty good so far.

Battery tray
Started working on a tray to mount the battery. I had a sheet of 11 gauge stainless so I figured why not it won't rust. For some reason I had a real hard time welding stainless tonight. The funny thing is I didn't have any trouble with the head light bezels.[S I have to make bungs for the frame and drill lightning holes and make a hold down. This is how far I got tonight. Thanks for all the encouragement.[

Don't beat yourself up too bad, I done some welds today that looked like a beginners WTH?????????????
I'm not. I was about out of stainless wire I was using 308 in .023. Today I went to the welding store and bought 316 in .023 for thin stuff and .030 for the thicker stuff and filled two bottles and now I'm broke. We will see if this works any better.
Nothing good to report tonight. Last night I woke on the battery tray and got some more done. The bad news is after I went in the house and took a shower I noticed the motion sensor light on the garage came on and saw smoke I ran out to the shop and could tell something was wrong. When I went inside it was completely filled with black smoke. The waste oil stove had overflowed and the oil that came out had caught on fire along with some other stuff. I got the fire out before fire dept. showed up,the wife had called 911. I'm glad they came, They checked things out and made sure there were no hot spots anywhere including the attic. The inside of the garage is completely black with an oily soot. The only major damage is the ceiling fan over the stove is melted and the PVC air lines are melted. both are easy fixes. The hard part Is going to be cleaning the soot off of everything. My 2012 F350 was also in the garage and I had left the drivers window open. It was so sooted up inside it looked like it had blacked out windows. My friend Tim came over and spent the whole day cleaning it. It looks fantastic. I spent the day moving crap out of the garage and cleaning out the oil and pressure washed some of soot out of the worst area about a 10X10 area and the bathroom. The building is 46'X50'. It's going to take a while. The truck is going on the back burner for a while. All things considered it could have been a lot worse.I'll try to get a couple is in a day or so.

Regret hearing about this but glad that you are safe and loss of property appears to be minimal.
