I've been on the RRR for about a month or so now & have noticed that there is always a new stream of new members signing on. Hey it's a good thing!!!

Well now i'm curious to know how long the Board here has been around? Who founded it? Is the Rat Rod movement picking up steam across the country?
Is the membership growing faster now then the past? Lots of questions huh!LOL

Sure enjoy the site here & the community is great with help. Kudos' to the staff. You've done well!

Thanks,Z.Z.

I was wondering the same thing today actually. The 2 "mainstream" spots are killbillet and the hamb which I'm not a big fan of either, but when I found this place it was just like home. There is a pick up of ratrods now days, I seen 3 at my local car cruise last week and my jaw almost dropped because it just was weird seeing them locally....made some new freinds to!

P&P, You hit the nail on the head. This place seems like home right off the bat. I've looked at the two sites you mentioned but they just didn't have what the RRR has. Never been back.

I've been a long time member on the Boss302 site & it's like the RRR. Seems like home. Good folks with a lot of knowledge & willing to help. When you think of it there wouldn't be near the cars, rods or rats on the street without websites like this one.

Now back to the Builds to learn something!

Ahhh, thanks for the link! Yeah the DSM forum I am part of started the same way, we were tired of all the ricers and non purist so we made our own from a group of four, nowdays its at the heels of the sites that are considered number one but its like here because its a big family.
Love the site, love the build, love the people....thanks!

Another dirty Dozener here. There has always been a steady flow of new comers.
I remember one time a few of us were on, and all of a sudden there was one after another of new people signing on. Turns out somebody posted up on the HAMB, something about our little hideaway. And we had about 30 people sign on in one night.
I like the HAMB for exactly what it is. I will not say anything bad about them, and I hope that is not where this goes. But basically someone said something like, if you are building a rat, go to RRR. And a lot of people did.
I am glad to see all the new faces here, some are already doing a great job.

I don't care who you are...that's funny.[cl[cl

Yea, that's a good one Tripper. I really like RRR because of the way people act here. There is something to be said for manners and it seems to be a dying trait, especially on the internet. I like to be able to sign on and read threads without a a bunch of negative bashing, bickering, f-bombs, and name calling. I'm also fairly confident that I won't ever have to look at another man's naked rear on here. Does any of the dirty dozen remember that one? [S

If I had one wish it would be that the new members would post more once they join. I know this happens on every forum, a vocal few seem to carry the load most times, but it sure would be nice to see what some of the rest have to say.

I know everyone is different, some people are just more extroverted, you see it at any gathering, but it is so interesting when some of these other folks start telling us about what they have been doing or planning. That is the reason I have sometimes started dumb threads about pets, etc. I figure we all have a dog or cat, so maybe if we break the ice by you telling us about Fido you will find it easier to talk about other things.

If there were ever a forum where it would be easy to make that first post it is RRR. No one EVER flames anyone here and in fact everyone goes out of their way to help others and to be complimentary.:):)

I found this site by accident a couple of years ago and it is a terrific place! No one ever flames or badmouths you or your build and the people here are some of the most informed and friendly types that you could possibly hope to meet. I'm not a mechanic or builder by trade, but I like to do my own work whenever I can and this is the spot to learn. I can't say enough good things about RRR and I hope the success of this site keeps climbing!!!!...CR

well, i too love this place a nd the comment about it feeling like home is really the same thought i have..didn't take long for me to transfer from "another" site to this one....
being an ordained pastor, i really didn't want to be on any site that wasn't "family friendly" the "be nice" motto really is a good thing whether everybody realizes it or not.....

and i'm gonna thank tripper for the site--not the "rev"
and i'm gonna thank DMW for giving me a buildlink to this site when building his F-1.....

Good thread, was wondering the same thing myself.

Just like on the main FORD truck site I'm on, people got tired of the stuff and attitudes on FTE so http://www.fordtruk.com/ was born...same with http://www.fordification.com/ .

I found RRR while looking at Rat Rod pics on google. I don't have a RR but I am working on a low budget build and there is no better place to get ideas than from the Rat Rodders themselves now my ride is starting to have some Rattitude.

The "Rat Rod" movement is growing but it's the leaner RRs (Raw Hot Rods) that are getting popular not the ones with crazy junk all over them (unless it's a theme car like the Hillbilly Surf which is the most popular car at very show I go to).

I know guys that two years ago would move their car if you parked a non "Easter Egg" car next to them, now they have built or are in the process of building a RR and the eggs are either on eBay or collecting dust.

I think it's for the reason you can build something that's fast and dependable that still looks cool without a $9k paint job that you can drive in the rain and let the kids touch them without the owners fainting.

i found RRR by chance when i wanted to get on to KB and got denied (still dont know why). I do not have a Rat yet but that is why i came here, so that i can learn. When I do go and build my project i will not be some blithering idiot with tools in my hand. (ok, well that will still be up for debate to some people)

I agree with Don when it comes to people posting. there are some things that will bring people out of their shell, you just have to figure out what it is going to be. For me it was people asking performance and frame questions that i actually knew the answers to. Now, i wont shut up...

This is not my first car/truck forum (actually, i have no clue anymore how many i am actually a part of) but it is the first and only in this genre. I have found this site to be very welcoming to the point where i have had rather lengthy phone conversations with a few members across the nation already.

I thank the original few for starting this site and the subsiquent lot for keeping this site entertaining and welcoming to all us new people.

there are a few in the muscle car community like that. i have been to a few shows where we know the owner and they have known us for well over 10 years and whenever we walk by their car we take our keys out and jingle them over the hood holding the key ring, just to get a rise out of them. (i know its evil, but its great to see their face EVERY time we do it)
