Motorhead, Yes the wheels are actually three piece wheels machined out. So they are a bit pricey. You know when you see something it hits you that that's the look your looking for. The bolts are aircraft. So after ordering them I've been scouring the walls & corners of the shop to find & sell anything that hasn't been used in awhile! LOL

Lowersplash, Thanks!

A couple more

Not finding time to make much progress but here's some pics of what will be used in the bed as part of the gas tank. It's an old lube crank pump. Plan on bolting it to the floor & run the filler neck up thru it for the tank.

Was on a farm related run yesterday & the same town where my favorite tire dealer is so went ahead & got the tires for the little Z.Z..

That's it for now!

Boss 9 Engine

Tuesday was a pretty good day as the Boss 9 engine made it up from S.Carolina to Indiana. It's in pieces so it may be awhile before it comes together but regardless it's here! Awesome piece of Ford history.

Also bought these mortar tubes to try & make an air scoop for the 9er'.

Thanks guys for the thumbs up! I am really excited to have this engine landed. I'll take some shots of the heads so you can see them. For those of you not familiar with this engine it is Fords one & only Hemi. Ford used them in the 69' 70' Mustang. If memory is right there were around 1300in the mustangs & 2 in Mercury Cougars. The #s in production cars were to homogelate SP) it for NASCAR.

I know it's been awhile. I put the order in way back in late March for these wheels from Bonspeed out there on the left coast. Ordered them in as polished aluminum. They had a little mess up & it turned into 14 wks before they made it here. Then it was onto the neighbor who does powder coating & a nice job at that. One thing led to another & finally they were done. So last week had the tires mounted & guess we are ready to do some fab'n!LOL

Here are some pics of the wheels thru the process. I replaced the spoke bolts they had in them with some stainless steel bolts that in my opinion looked more time period correct for the build.

This FYI I learned as watching the guys put on the tires last week. They took us to the back room where they had another style tire mounting machine. First time that I'd been around one like this. They use it for more of the higher $$$ rims & painted & such to prevent any damage while installing. After watching it certainly made a believer out of me!

With any luck we might make it down to Mr. Gussetts shop this weekend & start in. Ya know you get that feeling just like a kid at Christmas.LOL

Mr. Bonehead has done some work for us & he might post up some pics here to before long. I can't wait to see what he's crafted up.

Have some pics of the rims & tires but the daughter had to run & didn't get them posted. I think she's finally going to teach me to post pics.LOL!

You know, I would like to meet a couple of you local guys. I need some inspiration(hint, hint, I want to check out your cars....:D)

The challenge was to build arrows, (indian style) on the wishbones Rex sent me. I got it all done, and here are the pictures of how it went.
