Curse you CL. I have had a couple inquires about doing another RPU cab. So once again CL happens. Found a 47'ish IH with a roof beyond repair with a good floor, sat on it's lid for a while. Fenders where trash but did have a decent hood. I really liked the body lines and for the asking price I could not pass on it.

Cool cab, looks like the perfect candidate for a RPU.

That's not always a cure. You find people willing to trade then it starts all over again.

Here's my new motto as seen posted somewhere: Its a disease that's for sure, the cure is the next car...for a while, it's like drugs....you spend time getting the car, then you get it, use it, and then you spend the rest of the time trying to figure out how to get the next one..i used to buy cars, screw the rent.........

Yep my trusty daily driver '87 S10 needs the timing gears replaced now. Not fun. Solution was to get on CL and buy a '51 Ford sedan today for $1600 to replace it. This is logical and reasonable right guys? Right? Right?

Hells ya that's reasonable and logical. Think about all of the other possible issues you may come across in replacing those timing gears. You coulda spent thousands on other things that needed replacing once you started in on it. With the Ford purchase, you know what you spent and you know what you bought - that's all for certain, the S10 was a potential can of worms full of uncertainty. You did the right thing and should be commended for it. Congrats to you!
