One Hour Car Show

There was a car show a mile from the house. In a strip mall. A one hour car show cuz there were few cars. I met some old guys and we swapped lies. Went home and pushed my Lawn Boy around the yard in 90/70 heat/humidity.
First car belongs to Blower Bob, even though it doesn't have a blower. Next a Fire Chicken and a Z/28 that needs valve guides. Jerry's '32 three window precedes a '64 Chevelle. When I got out of school I wanted to buy one. Never did. The Ford is owned by retired NHL North Star winger Steve Payne. Never at a loss for words.

Just a few more. This Chevy had an exceptional paint job. First a Fire Chicken, now a Thunder Chicken. A beautifully restored '55(might be '56) Dodge long roof and a mighty fair Fairlane.

always thought a 68 bird with the rear suicide doors would be a cool alternative to the slammed and murdered early 60's continentals

Wed. On The RIver

A couple Wednesdays each month there is a car show in downtown Stillwater along the beautiful St. Croix River. Here's a sample of the rolling stock that shows up.

A nice, pleasant night with a hint of smoke in the air from Canadian fires. A few more pics. About a hundred cars there.

Really Gruber's This Time

I ran into a big rain storm on the way. No side windows, no wipers, no fenders and Drag Radials that are slippery when wet. The rain stopped but not many cars showed up. Just these two heavy hitters. Both Chevelles, Both Big Blocks. Both stroker motors. One with a Brodix block. One without.

Not Thursday, Not Gruber's

Another car show a mile from my casa. At a Mopar dealership. Here we go:
A purple cut- up truck and a super straight R/T. Gutted 10 second Honda and a red Ford. Some kind of eyetalian garbage and an almost as expensive big block Camaro. Chrysler drop top and a DelRay, '58.

But wait, there's more: Mopars galore and a type 3 VW. How did that Ford sneak in there?

I had to step away from the 'puter for a while. Pizza was calling. Last batch. A rat Charger, A VW bus without the flower power, Big block Chevelle. California dreaming and the ever popular Hurst/Olds. Guys, there's not a lot of hot rods around these parts anymore.
