Everything I own is screaming for attention so sadly something needs to go. I don't see me getting back on this until way into the summer. Time to thin the herd. 62 Ranchero is next but I need to see if it will run first. Then I can focus on getting some stuff done on the 40 panel. If everyone who owes me for work would square up, I would put the caddy back on the shelf for a while.

I hear ya,it's like everything you own is a liability. Let stuff sit and it ends up costing money and attention!

I call it the law of diminishing return WB..... More stuff but getting less joy out of it. It's not hard to accumulate stuff. Just hard to get rid of it
I have downsized a couple of times in my adult life and while it may seem to hurt while you are doing it, afterwards it is like a load lifted off of your chest.
I just unloaded some stuff to generate some $$$ for my build as I am tired of just looking at it and not moving forward to finish it.
Regret seeing the Caddy go as they are some of my favorite rides. But you walking past it everyday and not being able to work on it isn't good for the soul either.
Be strong and move forward.

You all know cars come and go around here at a pretty fast pace. These old caddys can be a money pit and my idea on diminishing returns is the same as yours. But it has brought me a lot of joy, I like just seeing it set in the yard because it's so darn classy in an evil sort of way. Maybe something will bust loose but I don't see me giving it the attention it deserves without the 40 panel project suffering. I did save it from sitting and rotting and got it far enough along it wont be a huge project for someone else to get it on the road where it deserves to be.

Just a reminder WB.....Think and feel happy about what you want with your projects. We can overwhelm ourselves with unnecessary limited thinking just like that homeless guy pushing the shopping cart.
I know "yeah but...." :):)

I know the feeling. I got too much on my plate also. My house needs alot of work, and I just cant find time to work on a Rat. Also just recently had to go to doctor and dentist and that cost about $ 15,000---I might have to sell some stuff to help pay for that.

Cars come and go. I could pick any one of a dozen to keep every year. Selling this car is like sticking your finger in a glass of water and pulling it out, that's how big of hole it would leave. I do like it better than most I find but in part my mission is a success when I've saved another one and brought it back from sitting and rotting. Plus half the fun is just bringing an old engine back to life. I don't sweat it, things work out the way they're supposed to. If it's the car's time to go, it will sell. If not, it won't. Either way, it's as asset.
