I just love the V8 sound coming from a couple V Dub engines[cl[cl
Reminds me of Emerson Fittipaldi's dual VW engine beetle from years back, it was a beast on the track, of course they outlawed it, too dominating....

I love the odd stuff.[cl

e-man, is it true that he parked next to you?

Yes he is from this area. Have looked it over at two or three shows. The engineering details are works of art when seen in person. Watch how the front glides forward when he opens it. The crankshafts are clocked to fire like a V8.

The multi quote button is not working for me but i agree with the comments. :)
Thanks for that info ZZ. Hard to do much that hasn't been done before.

Anybody know what it produces on a Dyno? Would it out-perform a 283? Sno-pros comment "but it's a 283" just left me thinking there is some low balling going on with the 283. The V double is cool. It sounds good. But being a Chevy fan, I bet a mildly tuned and built 283 would stomp a mudhole in it's air-cooled ass...

very cool!!!

I know my buddy. had a vw that he drag raced. it was all vw, I think it was a 2200 0r 2400cc and it when 10.0 in the quarter. it was one mean sounding lawn mower!!

Guys I wasn't knocking this cool ride, just defending sbc...

No need to defend the SBC, smallfoot. I wasn't low-balling a 283, just saying that's a lot of work and money to have a small cubic inch air-cooled engine that very likely underperforms as compared to a built 283 V8. The VW engine is very much for novelty and looks more than it is for performance. I'm building a 283 for my roadster pickup, aiming for more than 1 hp per cube.
