on the headers....can you turn them down and run along the side to look more like the real car?

Later

Yeah man thats what I had planned. I want them to look more real. The other thing that I may scratch is the faux velocity stacks. I don't think I am real fond of cutting into the orginial sheet metal to mount them. Its still up in the air though. Thanks for the thoughts.

Buckeyes

Well, started another wagon today while I was waiting on paint to dry. Its getting easier each time, but I still have to plan ride heights and design styles. If I could just get all the same style of wagons I would be great. :)...I am not entirely fond of the idea of another wagon riding like this, but I am donating this wagon to a Hospice Benefit so that they may raffle it off. This style seems to be the favorite and is the easiest to build. haha...Since I couldn't decide on a theme for the wagon, I have decided to build a wagon to honor THEE Ohio State University. For those of you that don't know, OSU is the best school in the country. :D I am a huge Buckeyes fan, as are most of the people I know, so this wagon will be universally liked I hope. After I build this one I want to abandon this style for awhile and go back to the "Rat Rod"/car themed looks. They are more fun! Nonetheless, here is the beginning of the build. I have a photoshopped version, but I think I am going to keep you'll guessing. You know since I have sooo many adoring fans! lol...again thanks for the comments and looking!! Cheers!

Went to the dump today to drop off some tree branches & stuff.. spotted this laying in the scrap metal pile so I thought of you & snagged it. I have a daughter that turns 3 this month so I'm trying to talk myself into letting her have it instead of turning it into a cart for the Helmo. [ddd

We'll see.... [;)

Dude that is an awesome find. I have been looking for one of those metal wagons with the wooden sides for a while now. Everyone always wants more money for them for some reason. You should definitely build her one. If you want I can message you the easier things I have figured out along my building processes! Can't wait to see it finished.

Question

I asked this question in another forum, but wish to hear some more feedback.

Some of you guys that have taken time to build these wagons understand the time involved. And also understand how much money it does take. With that being said, do you guys think that $200 to $250 is a fair price for one of these wagons?? I feel like if they sell to cheap I rip myself off, but on the other hand they may seem pricey to people that haven't attempted one. Just wondered, looking forward to feedback.

da' bay

is any one on e bay selling stuff like this?

if you have the time, do a craigslist all over the usa/city search.

antique stores some times have old wagons for sale, see what their prices are.

swap meet, give it a try with some other stuff you want to sell, that way if a wagon don't sell, the other stuff ya sell will cover the price of a stall.

Updates

A couple updates of the Ohio State wagon I am building for charity. Nothing special but now its ready to be torn down for paint.

I know

l like it the way it looks.

Later

I know I love the way it looks, and had planned on using this wagon to make it as it is. But due to having to have the Buckeyes wagon finished for the charity donation I had to use this wagon. I hate it because it looks awesome the way it is, but I can't seem to find any wagons around here. Don't worry I plan on making a few more Rat wagons, afterall, they are by far the most fun!!

Buckeyes

Well, its nearly finished!! And again I am donating this wagon to be auctioned off for charity. The Buckeye leaf stickers are the actual ones they use on their helmets. All that it needs now is the handle finished and the axles cut off. I am happy with the outcome. I guess you are always the most critical of your own work. Its awesome, but definitely not my favorite! :) without further adieu...

Update

don't want to bore everyone with similar pictures that I already posted, but I got the handle done and on today. Let me know what you think. My daughter also got to take the first ride it in before it is off to the auction block. Enjoy!!

Rusty

I was bored and decided to attempt to put some art on a rusty wagon. I by no means claim to be an artist or a pin stripper. I wish I was one or the other. :D Thought you guys would like this it may be finished someday to actually be able to be used. In the mean time, enjoy!

That looks sweet. Glad someone else used the pnuematic tires and lowered it. When I did it I hadn't seen anyone else that had. Its definitely fun building them. You are welcome to post more pics of the ones you build. :D

yea those tires are cheap at harbor freight they have some that look like street tires but they are 30 bucks each. right now i have to get started on my 27 T sedan, my sons 42 pickup cab and sell my T bucket then work on some wagons
