This trike was up about 4 months ago for $4,500 by a guy that had it 25 years and sold it. Was a complete mid 60’s bike with a pan head, springer front end and rear cart all there, ran but needed some tinkering. And is back on CL http://westslope.craigslist.org/bar/3368764800.html

Wow, I haven't seen those tires since I was a kid in the late 60's! Who was it that sold them, Montgomery Ward? I remember seeing them in a catalog somewhere, thought they were goofy with all the writing on them.

Wonder what the guy did with the engine and tranny?

That's a 45 frame, don't think it ever had a panhead in it.

Makes me think the guy that owned it in the firt place didn't know what he had. I'm not a bike guy so I just I never gave it a second thought. Just hated to see the bike peice milled out like that. Any one know what that bike would of been worth, wish I would of saved a pic the first time it was up. But It looked like it was well used and not restored in years or ever.

One of the reasons I don't want to sell any of my creations/projects. I would hate to see what some one does to it. I could never sell my Dodge for fear that some one would hack it up. Same for my jeep. Some people have no respect for what something is.

I remember watching an episode of trucks when Stacey David still hosted it. It was about how they wouldn't sell projects built on the show anymore because of what happened to them after they were done. The 4 or 5 they did sell were chopped up for parts, others crushed. Now any of the projects he does he keeps.

It's really hard to say what it was worth. If it was an all original servicar and all complete, running...maybe $5-6g. In better shape or really nice I'd guess 10-12g.
The last trike frame I had was about like that but setting on a jap fork. I bought it at an auction for $450 and 5 minutes later sold it for $600. That was maybe 8-9 years ago.

I'm not sure why he would strip out a 45 trike, all the tanks, engine, tranny ect. fit is a servi car or a 45 bike. Like I said, that frame never had a panhead, a big twin would never fit in there without serious butchery.
Here's what they looked like. Later ones had a tube fork. I think this one has the wrong back wheels, they were actually a disc wheel like a car, even had a hubcap. That's how the 42 I owned was anyway.

WB3 thanks for the insight, I checked out the link and also googled. The first one I saw on CL was missing the fenders and I didn't see any tanks that looked like one one that was a that bike. This may not be the same bike, but the tires are same ones what are the chances. Makes me think he may of had this and found a more complete one (the first one I saw), swapped tires to sale off the bare bones.
