I live in snow country...chains are for babies. But they are a factory option on front wheel drive mustangs.

Back in the 80swhen I lived in Anchorage I used to see a lot of front wheel drive cars with chains on the back wheels . I guess stupid has come full circle.

A friend of mine worked in a tire shop in the 70's and said he got chewed out for putting snow tires (remember those?) on the rear of an early FWD car.

Isn't putting chains on a FWD a real bad idea? Chains are illegal around here.
Just seems to me you just made steering a nightmare and haven't gained any braking traction. Go with no stop is deadly.
