So my wife has been wanting a car built so she has something to cruise. So I stumbled across this cool ford station wagon. But I didn't want to just build a run of the mill wagon hahahaha. So I gathered up a 76 Ford f250 to drop the body of the wagon onto. I want to make it look like it was supposed to be 4 wheel drive. Should be fun!!

I was able tomorrow the truck out to pay for the car and come out a little money ahead!!!

Here is the rear down video!

Cool project but I must say I feel a wee bit sad for the wagon...I like it as is

We my thought on it is right now it's wasting a way in central Montana. It will be brought back to life with me. I agree it would be cool in stock form. But way different as a 4x4

Well if it looks like this one I found on marketplace, I tend to agree hahahaha

This car is on a truck frame.
I think it came out OK.
It wasn't a 4x4 frame though.
If I would have used a 4x4 frame instead of the 2 wheel dive frame, I'm not so sure it would have been all that much different.

The 2nd pic is my current truck on a 4x4 frame. Just because its a 4x4 frame, that doesn't mean it has to be jacked way up.

the 3rd pic shows there isn't much difference in ground clearance between the two.

Some nice rides there good sir!!

I agree, it can be done tastefully. This one will be taller than those. Just cause of the nature of solid laxles and being leaf sprung.

There's a guy around here that set a (I think) 37 Dodge on a 4 X 4 frame. It sets up so high that when you first see it, it looks like a car sitting on a trailer. (I haven't looked at it up close, but I don't think he cut the floor at all - just built a frame to fit between it and the donor frame.)

That is how most car on 4x4 chassis are done, and that is why most look strange.

I'm not sure if the wagon has a full frame, or is unibody, but if its a full frame, it likely has a parameter frame where the body floor pans sit inside the the frames side rails, making the side frame rails probably around 50" - 60" wide but the 4x4 frame likely has the frame side rails under the cab at about 34"-38" wide. The challenge is what to do about the differences in the frame rail widths and how that effects the car floor pan. If one puts forth the effort to channel the car body down over the 4x4 frame, it can look pretty cool, but that is often huge work.

The car is a unibody. I'm going to do my best to get it to sit right on the frame. It's going to be some work, but shouldn't be too bad hahahaha
