That's the best. [clI like your thinking. Less cost and maintenance. It never made sense to me to not have a winch in the rear. I would think you could get yourself unstuck if you pulled yourself back the way you came from. Also you can use it to load the trailer.

Thanks Kenny.

We got in a position between two large rocks where we couldn't move at all.
I had to run the winch cable under the Jeep to winch backwards to get out. Kinda hard on things underneath hey we made it home.

I'm not surprised it looks so good, and your idea of being able to move the winch is genius!

That's a great idea and well executed Pops [cl[cl[cl

Thanks guys.

I had this bright idea after needing a winch for different situations and decided this would be the perfect time to build it.

Thanks for the interest and all the comments.

Spring is in the air.

Spring is a busy time around here and it doesn't leave much time to work on an old Willys.
I got my fields planted finally and dragged my pasture here at the house. Ready for some water which is a whole different thing this year. The irrigation water is a month late this year and don't know how regular it will be.

Back to the willys

I got the third door to swinging today. Still a lot to do but it's getting closer.
Then a preview to have a look see at the new tire choice.

Taller tires look good. Love that third door, should make rear seat access easy. Do you have a strap to keep it from opening too far?

I really appreciate the interest and comments guys. I haven't kept up with the posting lately. Seems life my life is out of control.

I did get the latch assembly installed and the door now swings and latches. Not a whole lot of progress but it is progress. I need to do the finish welding and put a limit strap on it to keep it from opening too far.

The door handles even line up. Surprise, Surprise!!!

I spent a little time on the prewiring of the front end lights. Just because I needed to do something different for a while.

Still beatin on it.

Family time!!!

I had to take off and go turkey hunting with my youngest son and two grandsons this past weekend.

It was fun watching the older boy when he bagged his. The smile says it all. He struggles with epilepsy seizures and doesn't get to do a lot of things that kids should be able to.

The younger one isn't quite old enough to hunt so he had to have his trophy shot with my Tom.

Three generations of my clan enjoying the great outdoors. A great day to say the least.
