Is 2.5" of tie rod clearance enough? X-steer

With my current set up I am figuring the face of my tie rod may only be 2.5" from my 4 bar brackets. Does anyone know the clearance you loose lock to lock with a Saginaw 525 steering box? Thanks

Pete & Jakes Tie-rod measurement help?????

THANK YOU! It would be great to get a matching measurement for the drag link. Also, would you mind turning it lock to lock and seeing how much closer the drag link gets when it's fully turned? I, too, am setting up a cross steer, and I'm trying to figure out if I will have to run the tie rod...

Pete & Jakes Tie-rod measurement help?????

Can anyone tell me how far behind the axle a standard set of Pete & Jakes steering arms places the tierod? I'd appreciate the drag link measurement as well if it's no big deal. Please just specifiy if it's from the centerline or from the back face of the axle. Thanks JP

How much bolt can show on torsion bar stop?

Does anyone KNOW if 2" is too much bolt to stick out on a torsion bar stop? I'm talking about what sticks out and sets down onto the plate on the chassis. My stops came up just short, but if I clock them they'll line up with about a 2" reach over to the pad. The pad is circular. Thanks JP

Can anyone running a 30" tall tire and a model A axle tell me how much they had to slant their split bones for steering clearance? Thanks JP

    Width of Wishbones? Please

Can someone tell me the approximate (or exact:)) height and width of an original wishbone? I'm not really concerned about the exact year. I'm trying to make something similar for myself from boxed tubing. Thank you, JP

Anyone cut metal parts from CAD drawing?

I have a dxf of some steering arms I need cut. I'm looking for someone who runs either a water-jet or laser machine that can do 7/8" to 1" thick plate. I had these quoted locally and it was way out of my range ($240). This is just too much for me to pay for a set of steering arms. It may be...

    125% Model A Roadster

Here is finally an update on the car. My dad has been getting around to painting in since May, you know how that goes. Lots of stuff going on and it's been 100 degrees for a month. Anyway, he did a great job on it with Eastwood Chassis Black. The engine being painted orange really sets it...

Best way to get chassis of rotisserie?

Anyone have any great ways of getting a heavy chassis/unibody off of a rotisserie? I can only lower it so much due to the set up. I have one engine hoist, but that's it. Thanks JP

    Chrome Paint?????

Thanks for all the feedback. Any suggestions on an axle color to go with a gloss black chassis, other than the obvious of just sticking with gloss black. Thanks

    125% Model A Roadster

Here is a small update of sorts. The rear torque arm for my Dana 60 was put togeather, but didn't line up just right. Yesterday I finally got a chance to tear it apart and using the right bolts get it togeather nice and square. The entire thing is TIG welded. It runs up to a dog bone (female...

    Model A Speedster build

I can only assume you primered first? Going to be doing a similar type "simple" body. The build itself is fantastic. Making things look so simple and clean is the hardest thing to do. I cannot believe how straight you got everything to come out. Once it's assembled nobody will ever assume...

    dumb question. What is ....

In agreement with what most have already said. I quit going over there because I kept finding myself trying to build HAMB friendly stuff even though I didn't to. I just wanted somewhere to talk about my builds, didn't know about this place, and didn't want to get flammed over all my hard work...

    1950 custom Studebaker Streetrod

    MY BUILDS AND FAB 117harv

Would you be willing to detail how you polish up those axles so nicely & if you run them that way or plate them. I'm very impressed with your work and would love to run my axle bare like that.
