Nice job on the bumper! Good idea to do the cutting and welding behind the bullets. It looks good to me.

Looks like it fits pretty good! Nice work!

[cl [cl [cl :D [P on the bumper mods.

Thank you CC. You've given me more confidence to customize a bumper or two. Keep on tinkering.

nothing like a pair of Dagmars to make the front of a car special.

WOW....Thanks for all the comments guys... I'm very happy with hoe the bumper turned out and the positive reinforcement really give me an extra boost!

I forgot to mention I picked up another set of rally wheels from a cutlass over the weekend... I think they look good, I'm going to have to go with a larger tire in the rear for sure, but the fronts work very well :)

Why not?

Include the Buick grill?

The wheels look great.

that is an idea.. I think the grill is still on the old Buick in the yard.. I'll have to measure and see if it will be wide enough... this is what I came up with so far...

Thanks... it was a gamble that seems to have turned out good LOL!

I like the third one. Simpler. Apparently it is easy to overdo a custom because
you see so many are.

I agree... on Customs often less is more... plus I can always add later!:D

.........................................

Which way?

Picked up some goodies at the rod run and also saw a ton of good rides, I was too busy drooling to take photos lol....

Picked up a set of slots and some mirrors that I think will be killer!

Plus made an oops and destroyed a rocker stud on the 327... to discover the 7/16 rocker studs I had and roller rockers would fit :D So it looks like pops and I will both be running rollers in our motors [cl

I took a couple pictures just to compere the two rocker types...

Where was this swap meet at? I know Hoggy's car, it's from my area. The guy was trying to sell it last year for something like $25,000, I doubt he got that much. I have never seen the car drive over about 10 mph and that was in a parade.....

The vendor area moved to the LeConte center this year, which worked out well, then there was a swap meet outside in the parking lot. I was surprised with the amount of deals I got this year, I guess it's been slow, or money talks either way it worked out well.... The slots i picked up from a guy that sets up by the Mikey D's every year... him and another guy set up there at least for the past 5 years I've gone. scored a set of slotted mags with a spare, all with good rubber for under 2 so I was happy, I've been looking at slots for a long time!:D

Black is BACK

Spent a little time wrenching yesterday[cl

Decided to go black with the 327... Expecting the poly-locks to show up anytime now and picking up a set of chrome oil pan bolts later today, so looks like I'll be getting ready to do a motor swap... THEN it will be tire ROASTING time! [cl:D[cl

I am happy with the black on the motor... with going all polished Aluminum up top, I'm thinking that I may just do a black oil pan instead of putting the chrome back on, but then again I know the chrome one didn't leak LOL....

BTW... What do you guys polish your old slotted aluminum mags with? I've tried never dull and some aluminum brightener, but I'm still not satisfied.....

The last engine pic was a before shot.....

Wow

Diggin the black on the engine…[cl
Love the old school slots… …wish I had a tip for polishing the slots, I always used Never Dull...

On aluminum that has a brushed finish I used to use a very fine emory cloth and then sealed it up with a good quality wax. Also good old comet cleanser and sealed with wax.
Also I have seen people have them shot with glass beads as well.
Can't really recommend a polish as I have found that most of them don't do what the promise.
Torchie.

One Step Closer

Thanks for the polishing tips... I ended up scuffing the surface with 0000 steel wool and then hitting the wheels with Never Dull, got them good and damp, them took a cotton bonnet on a drill and buffed like crazy.... I'll have to post a pic, because they cam out really good! :D

Picked up some headers...

Popped the temp lights into the back of the 50 Chevy...

Did some painting on the intake.. (clear) popped in a new fuel pump, added some chrome bolt covers...

Valve Covers, which should I choose I like the M/T... but I think it may be too much black?[S

Also have thought about running the Old Script in silver with black lettering:cool:

covers

Diggin the MT covers as well… ;) Although the old school are cool, and I've seen guys put the breather and PCV in the rear of the covers to keep from putting holes in the script, i"m not sure how they addressed the oil fill issue...

Go to a truck stop and get some liquid white jewelers rouge. It will make those aluminum slots shine like chrome!

I like the M/T covers, too. Polish the ribs and letters and it will look great.

I would use the M/T's, they look great.
Good choice on the black engine color with the aluminum trim.
Looks classy I think.
Nice score on the slots too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
