302 in a 47 ford pu

I have a1947 ford pu and want to put a 302 ford eng and c4 trans in it.
I want to ues the exsiting mount on the fram. has any ony done thie befor. the body in good shap. and dont know yet what going to happen to the body as of yet. may leave stock or chop?????????[S

i don't think you'll be able to use the existing mount. If it was a Flathead V8 the mounts are in front on the water pumps. On a Ford 302 they are on the sides. The trans crossmember is going to be different also. You will need new frame mounts and trans cross member. Try Chassis Engineering Inc.

thanks. I have heard some where some one did this with the existing motor mount and useing the front of the eng ??? to fab new mounts . I just may go with the after markit kits
