Just caught up on your build. The fenders are looking awesome and I love the motor! Caddy mills are the way to go! Can't wait to see the end result!

workin

I got a chance to work on my car this weekend. I finished the other fender flare and started on a set of 55 Chevy headlamp bezels. Here are some pictures. I still have some hammer and dolling to do, but I'm pretty happy with it. You can see the different in the last two pictures.

front bumper

Been working on a front bumper for my car. I still have to put the bottom part on. I'm still looking for another bumper to cut up. The bumper came off a 05 Chevy Colorado. I know it sounds strange, but I can see this car finished in my head. Now if I could only get it in real life. A lot of folks don't know the work we put in our rides. It's funny the work I put in my car is to unwind from my job. There's not a better feeling than building with your own hands and seeing it come together. Well back to the bumper. Did some trimming of the ends and french the bumper into the front fenders. Later will add a panel across top of bumper that will be body color between bumper and grill. The part that I still need to make below bumper will also be body color.

My friends all think I am crazy for doing car stuff to "unwind". (mostly cause I am a swearer) but beating on metal, grinding and welding gets out all the frustrations. And it is usually a good work out. When I was in the academy I took apart a full size back hoe with a torch, sledge and my bare hands. Got all my frustrations out!:D

front seats

Did some work today. I put the braces for the front seats in. I cut the back brace to get a little angle then add the front brace. Did a little trim work on the ends to make it look a little better. The seats are out of a 05 Buick Century. I took the factory gear off the bottom of them both. I got a couple of seat sliders that lower the weight a lot. I will pull the head rest off of them to make it look a little older. I also got the matching rear seat it will get put in later. I'm planning on putting the brake master cylinder and pedal in the next time I get to work.

brakes & fuel tank

Did a little work today. I got the brake master cylinder mounted and the fuel tank. The brake cylinder and pedal came out of a catalog. The fuel tank is out of a 66 Mustang. I don't like plastic fuel cells. This tank has a fuel fill on top. It was easy to put in. Made a cradle for it and mounted on the body. Did not make it the floor of the trunk. Most of us know how bad that was for Mustang owners who got rear ended hard. The cost was only $95.00.

flooring

I got a little done on my ride. Had a hail storm and a lot of deer hits come in at the shop. I'm putting the floor down. I got a bead roller and went to work. I also got my rear wheels and tires. The rear tires have fake white walls. I was able to fit a 275/60/15 back there with the mini tub I did earlier.

more floor

Got the floor almost done. I still have to do the the trans tunnel. I got the trunk floor done. I did a little recycling. Had to change the whole bed on a truck so I used the floor for my trunk and some of the bed side for the drive shaft tunnel. I used a brake rotor to bend some flat bar for the drive shaft tunnel. I welded the flat bar in then cut the cross bars out and cover the bar with the metal of the bed sides.
