I'm new to this site and i love what i see , this is the 46 i'm building i started out building it as a pro street drag truck but i have changed the direction to more of a hot rod to cruz in .

I started by building a 2x3 frame rails the rear axle is a ford mustang 8.8 with a spool and strange ing. axles 3.55 gear and i made all the rear upper and lower control arms and all the brackets.

Motor is a 4.6L DOHC with my own intake that i am fabbing for 2 holley carbs it will also have a frt. dist. drive from the drivers side valve cover and a MSD crank trigger from a sbc with a MSD 6 dig. box .

Trans wiLL BE A 3R70W overdrive with a man. valve body , its nice to have the 4th gear and the loc up conv.

The frt. susp. is a 4" dropped tube axle with 4 bar setup with trad. side steer and a vega box the axle and spring i got from Lucky 7 speed shop not to far from where i live the 4 bar and steering is all made by me .

The cab is channeled and i will be makeing the doors open suicide and after that comes off the top to take out 6" out of the frt. and 5" out of the back and i will take 2 1/2"- 3" out of the rear window .

Let me know what you guys think so far heres some pix

Thanks Mike

WILD!!!!!!

Truck is Awesome![dr
I did not know you could convert a 4.6 to run without computer.Do you have to make your own conversions or is there a supplier?
Also what year 4.6 engines are best for the conversion?
Thanks

Opinions

Just my opinion, i would lower the motor and trans as far as it will go without scrapin the ground so ur floor tunnel is minimized in highth. But as far as the rest goes, that thing is lookin awesome[dr[dr[dr[dr[dr:eek:

The motor i'm using is a 94 4.6l out of a Mark 8 they made 3 different blocks 2 where cast iron 1 is good for 600 hp and the other is good for 2000 hp and the on i have is an alum. block good for 1200 hp not bad when there all stock ford blocks as far as heads the made C heads and B heads i have the B heads .

I will not be running a cumputer for the motor or trans the motor will have a MSD 6 dig. box for ign. and a SBC MSD crank trigger with a MSD dist. mounted in the front of the valve cover.

The trans will be a 4R70W overdrive unit with a manual valve body this will elimanate the use of the cumputer.

Here are some pix

i like it a lot curious to see what your doing with the motor mounts

If you look at the 1st and the fifth picture you will see that there is a piece of 1/8 cut like an L shape , i have to still drill the alum. motor plate rite thru the piece of steel behind it and there will be 4 nut and bolts on each side to hold the motor in place.

Your fab work all looks good!

I was kinda wondering about using the 10 bolt for all that potential HP though.

Hey bro thanks for the words , the rear end is a ford 8.8 with strange eng. axles and spool with 3.55 gears and theres some bracing tubes on it also has ford 9 inch big bearing ends with C clip eleminators in short its good for over 1000 hp , should hold up its all new stuff , we built the rear axle that tuff for the turbos but where not running any turbos maybe just alittle NOS [dr
