60 years old and still beautiful

Have the front spears in the trunk. Yea, I'm gonna leave it weathered. The doors have that distinct creak when you open them, every tri-five I've had. Gotta rebuild or replace carb as the plunger is shot from sitting. I did run it up and down the road with the boy, front end feels great as do...

60 years old and still beautiful

Haven't posted in a while, thought I'd re-acquaint. This followed me home yesterday. I'ts a 57 chevy sport sedan. Still has the original 283/powerglide that runs as smooth as silk. For once , I didn't have to drag it on the trailer!! She is a very solid survivor with looks like one repaint but...

    1955 chevy

Try Flood Penetrol. I use it to preserve the patina, works good. I brush on a new coat every year. Easy to use, just brush it on, no need to tape off anything. Doesn't leave any brush marks either. Get it at Lowe's.

    What my dad says

Depends on what you are welding. Finish work always requires grinding when comes to aesthetics and or safety. The best welders that I've worked with over the years always had a flap wheel in the wait. Penetration is what really matters.

    Latest tri-five winter project

Picked up this 56 Chevy last month. It's a 210 more-door hardtop which is fairly rare. I love this body style especially since I cant afford 2 door versions. It's out of AZ, so it is rock-solid, 1st one I wont have to do any floor repair really or any rot repair on the body at least. The fenders...

    48 buick LS9 drivetrain

Extreme build. I can appreciate the hard work(& money ) put into the car. Only thing that looks out of place are the wheels. They just don't fit the overall look really to me[S. It needs older looking and maybe more chrome on the wheels. I get they were trying to match the top and interior but I...

    Trouble selling rat rods???

I've had lot of experience in buying and selling cars in my area. The style of hot rod that we build are usually driver quality at best in most peoples eyes and that doesn't bring much profit. I break even or make a few bucks selling my cars. Most in my area want perfect Chevelles or Camaros...

Prices... The Good... The Bad... & The Ugly!

In the end, it's probably cheaper to buy one done than to build one, but that takes all the fun out of it, at least for me. I never buy cars that are done, that's just too boring for me. Most of us are not into this hobby to buy and look at our cars, but to work on and enjoy 'em and put our own...
