Your choice on rods or wire but like everyone said, heat it up good before welding, weld it,keep it warm and let it cool slowly. Also helps if you bang on it mildly with a hammer as it cools to help stress relieve it some. It will help keep it from cracking again. Good luck !

How about splitting the difference. Add half of what you want behind the door and half to the cowl. That way you get your leg room and its still proportional looking. Just another thought.

Cant think of the correct name, but it looks like an Erkel Mobile. The little car that opens in the front, steering column swings out with door.

My neighbors unlce passed away recently. He was a mechanic in town for many years. While going thru his shop at his house my neighbor found this and several other things. Any thoughts on what this came out of? I'm sure there could be a few correct answers. 39" at widest point, 16" tall, 3" high...

Work has finally slowed some and the holidays are over. Got the drivers side finished up today. Now to start on the passenger side and try to make it match.

Just as always your work on this car is amazing. How about a couple of the singular push bar style bumpers one on each side. Something to match your flying eyeball claw maybe. Just a wondering thought.
