Guess what this started it's automotive life as?

An old customer stopped by my shop earlier this week looking for a public scale, there was one just around the corner from my shop but they moved away over ten years ago. Anyway he wanted to know what his under construction rat rod weighed. I got out my camera because I thought these pix should be shared here, any guesses what it was a long time ago?

That is a hood off something

that is making the back deck area.....[S but the body is really wide like it was something rather oblong.....I'm out of ideas....

Looks like the front of a COE, maybe 40'ish chevy??

Cant think of the correct name, but it looks like an Erkel Mobile. The little car that opens in the front, steering column swings out with door.

Bingo, 1958 Isetta, hacked the roof off and used the front door faced to the rear, a 4 banger turbo Ford engine out of a Turbo Coupe I believe, and bagged suspension out of a boneyard is my guess. You guys are good.
