More progress.....

The cab mounts are wasted on this thing. 30+ spot welds on each one so I decided to just grind and grind some more. Finally got down to the cab surface. The original mounts were just made of 16 ga. and were all busted out so I'm going back with 3/16'' plate since that's what I have.

Tomorrow I'll get everything leveled up and finish the front mounts then it's on to the rear. It's all fun and games still.

The wife got the doors cleaned up and primed today. We ordered every thing to get them put back together so she will paint them after just a little body work.

We have a whole lot of holes to patch on the cowl that's always a pain in the butt but it will look alot better.
Floors to fix and alot of beating and banging on the roof to get it straightened out.

Thanks Crate. I never get tired of seeing eagles.
Beautiful capture POPS.[cl :D
I'll see your eagle and raise you with a fox kit.

These were all taken locally.

looking good, I like the mounts!

have you thought of raising the bed floor a couple inches? its not necessary but the waay you are running through things it wouldnt take very long and would make that cab body line visible anyway.

Nice pics. I'll raise your raise with a fishing black bear from our Alaska vacation and a nice bull elk.

Thanks. She is already tiring of the body work needed so probably won't do any other mods.

I like the beefiness of the mounts.
I saved the animal pics you guys posted in my rotating desktops [cl

The wild critter photo taking is another one my passions. I used to do a lot of hunting with a rifle but really enjoy the camera thing in my current stage.

Finally got the front mounts finished up. I plug welded them in place after bolting them on the top to hold them in place. Some times I need more than two hands. Some one forgot to drill the lightening hole on the right side but I'm not taking it back off to do it now. I must be getting old or something.
On to the rear next.

Not much progress lately.
Had to catch up on my farming. In between irrigation sets I did manage to get a few holes in the cowl welded up.

Any body remember which ones l don't need?
NOT ME!!!!!

I need to work on the fancy hammer work. Looks like Some one needed to get the distributor out at some point.

'Tis easier to pound dents into an object than to pound dents out of an object. If anyone can do it, you can.

Yep, my Grandson is real good at putting dents in my pickup. For some reason, he can't resist the urge to pick up a piece of pipe or a stick and knock the hell out of it.:mad::mad: Got two dents in the fender and about a half dozen on the hood lip.:mad::mad:

Maybe one of these days we can get him under control.....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I can't believe my luck....

I ordered a Dodge 518 46rh transmission from a place in Woodland Ca. called
Got Transmissions on April 1st thinking it would save me some time. They told me I would have it within 2 weeks.
5 weeks later Fed Ex shows up this morning. I pick up the pallet that the guy rolls back to the rear of the trailer and set it on the drive way and I'm thinking that doesn't look like a transmission to me.

They sent me a 4 cylinder Toyota engine!!! I refused the shipment and loaded it back on FedEx truck.

Being the nice guy I am, I simply call them and tell them I would just like my money refunded and they tell me they won't do any thing until FedEx gets the shipment back to them and they will ship me a transmission in 3 weeks this time.

The nice guy leaves the room and I tell them what a load of s**t that is. I talked at and to 3 different people and now waiting for a call from the "CEO". I bet the SOB doesn't even call!!
If it wasn't so far to California I'd have a face to face discussion with these yah-hoos.

It just burns my arse to be treated this way while they use my money.

FUMING IN THE LAND OF ENCHANTMENT!!!!!
