Here's the new pedestal with the park light mounted and the sheet metal added. I'll swap out the socket for a dual filament one to use it as a turn signal. Now the fun part is to make the other one an exact match....

good grief, I love this build, you do amazing work..

You used stainless angle for your outside frame of your grill didn't you? How did you get those upper radii formed in the angle..I would have thought angle would distort bending it that direction, but yours looks awesome..I want to try a simple grill someday..

The light pedistal, headlight and park light all look like they belong right where you've got them. That's a very difficult accomplishment.

You're providing some great motovation for the rest of us to get out there and do something on our junk.

Just used the good ol' oxy/acetylene torch to heat it an slowly bend to match a template, then bent the other side to match it, some cleanup with a sanding disc and voila!

Made the other headlight pedestal, it went quicker since I made duplicates of the main pieces at the same time as the first one so they would match better. Also a shot of the original light location, i'll get some outside pics in a few days, still have other stuff to do while it's on jackstands.

Until then, watch out for the poltergeist livin' under your bench. :D

OK, today I got a little nuts and fabbed up a grille 'ornament', based on my favorite hot rod symbol, the Von Dutch Flying Eyeball. [ddd It's all made from stainless, for the eyeball I welded two ss measuring spoons together, rest is from rod and 20ga. ss sheet. For the 'perch' I used 1"x1/4" ss bar, it also doubles as the front mount for the hood hinge

The hood ornament looks cool. But, with all the clean flowing lines on the car I see it as a distraction.

Distraction may be the reason I made it, to keep things on a light note and not be too serious. A little humour is a good thing ain't it ?

If there was ever a car that truely deserved the marker plate with *GANGSTA* on it, this is the car.....

100% Agree with that. That hood ornament is great!!! It's the talon stretched out that does it for me. Undecided about the wings not swept back a bit, but it's hard to tell without seeing it in context of the entire car. We need more full car pics! [dr
