Wow this is a gorgeous car!!! I need to find some place around here where I can get laminated glass....... I work in a glass plant, but all we do is make flat glass no lamination :(

Henderson glass makes/cuts it, I think its $11 sq/ft for laminated, and 10 for safety glass. They have tinted glass too I believe.

Pretty much any glass shop around here has Laminated glass, clear, green tint (which I used, 6 mil) grey tint or brown tint. I used solid 6 mil for the door glass and had them tempered - too big of a chance of cracking with lam in the doors when you slam it, especially since they are so long and narrow.

I put a brown Wheelskin wrap on the Grant wheel and used 3M tape to attach some old Caddy emblems to dress it up (and hide the Grant emblem).
Finished wiring the console and set it in place for a look-see.

I know what you are saying. That is quite the span, but I think with plain 6 mil you would have been fine. Never hurts for a little added security though.

Holy SMOKES!!! Look at all the gauges!!!! Welcome to starship Cadillac!!!! [cl What are they all for? They look great, but there are just so many. What brand are they? I saw the dash before and it looks awesome, but just noticed the 3 more on the console.

Heh, heh, yeh there's a bunch there - the Caddy originally had 7 in the dash so I went with the same number - middle one is a clock. The dash ones are Classic Instruments American Nickel series. The ones in the console are from Viair for the air ride, 2 double pointer ones for the bags and one for the tank pressure.

I am really digging that wheel, is that still available from Grant?

Yep, part #1042. As banjo wheels go, it's probably the cheapest, I got better than the list price shown on their website (by virtue of spending way too much at the local Lordco auto parts store..:()
Wish I could have gotten something closer to the original - I did save it for wall art though, it has too many broken spokes and damage to use.
Here's a little before and after of the dash.

Thanks ZZ, wow... that before and after pic is just great to see how far you have taken this build... :):):)

Finished up the engine plumbing and added all the vital fluids, tranny, power steering, anti-freeze. Fired it up and got it up to operating temp. Other than a drip from a tranny line I forgot to tighten, no tragic leaks or unexpected pools of liquids - very unusual !! Everything seems to be working good, a big relief. :D

I love you color and detail choices. Pure class!

Is the "go" pedal original? Looks like a nice hunk o' aluminum.

Thanks Doc, yeah that's the original pedal, a real solid, quality piece and the arm projects through the floor so no linkage inside the cab, like the Lokar Eliminator pedal. Seems there are few new ideas, just old ones refined...

Damn, I can smell the oil on the headers as it lingers with the engine block enamel from here. Been watching this build and I gotta say the anticipation of that first drive is the most exciting thing I've endured since the secret decoder ring I had to wait 8 weeks for in 1966. Good job ZZ, you're an inspiration to us all!!

She is sheer beauty!!!! Does she have a name? Maybe a sister?

Got to love the sound when you get em running!!!! No more sitting on a milk crate making motor sounds for you!!!

We driving yet? [dr Looking good!

Nope, not yet !! :( Working on the interior panels, plan is to get it off to upholstery next week. Once I get the panels all made and installed, the seats go in. Then finally I'l put on the doors.
Looking forward to a little puttin' around the cul-de-sac after that.... :)
