the lines of the car look so good now, great job.

cant wait to see how you frame it, because i had builders block when i did mine and was on the wing it plan. i really like to see how you do the door jambs and latches.

Well, I gotta admit I'm wingin' it too on the framing [S, good thing I took lotsa pics of the old wood framing for inspiration. Definitely been staring at it awhile trying to plan ahead so the window garnish mouldings can go back in properly (that's another chore, [;) chopping them all down) and fit it all around the temporary bracing without tweaking it out of shape in the process. I may need to widen the wheel tubs for tire clearance too, and they need to be tied in also to keep the quarter panels straight.
The doors are going to be some fun too since like your Olds, they are totally flimsy without the wood. Again, the garnish mouldings need something to mount to, also I'm putting in power windows  dont yet know if I'll keep the vent wings or do one piece glass.

Here's a pic of my new best friend, a Magnum tubing roller. :D I've already used it to bend tubing for the door bottoms and door jambs - got done in a few minutes what used to take an hour or more with the red jack style bender you can see in the background.
With all the tubing needed in this body, it is gonna be a major help.

I have a feeling that you’re going to make it look like you’ve been using this machine for years. :D

Really anxious to see what you come up with. [P

Any updates???

I have been watching this build close, see I have a 34 Master Sedan and 35 Master coupe. Wood is shot in both. Can't wait to see how you go about bracing

It's been slow going lately, bogged down with little things that don't seem to show much, but have to be done. Finished welding up the door tops and found the drivers side door wasn't fitting the opening right. Had to cut the rocker panel loose again and tweak the body till it fit then welded it all back up again.
In prep to start the inner body bracing, I re-did all my temporary bracing so I can access all the areas properly to begin. After measuring my wheels & tires and rearend I determined the rear wheel tubs would need widening for tire clearance. So today I got the right side widened 2" and did some cancer surgery on the lower edge of the tub while I was at it. Once both are done, there is a bit more jungle rot to fix at both rear corners, then I can start doing the floor structure, etc.

Got the other wheel tub done and made cutouts for axle clearance. The floor will be about 5" higher than stock over the axle to clear the bags, etc. but thats the price of getting low.

Looks good as always. People don't realize how much work it takes to save a car this age let alone modify it to the extent that you are. [P

Jeez, I hate rust repair !! Yer right, it is a lot of work, [;) the hours really pile up and it does'nt look like that much got done !! I tried ignoring the rusty corners but they didn't go away.:( There was a brazed on piece on the backside of each bumper notch as well as a bunch of 76 year old lead, a real mess.

Almost got the rear corners done today, elected to fill in the bumper notches as it was easier to get the patch pieces smoother. Haven't decided yet if I'll cut them in later or not - gotta see it with the fenders on and decide what type of bumper to create first. The stock ones were thrashed and ugly anyway so I tossed them.

i hear you on the rust repair.. its looking fantastic though.. keep at it

Finished off the welding on the back corners and also welded up the holes for the old spare tire mount and the gas filler hole. [;)[;) Don't know yet where the filler will end up going, maybe a small lid type ?
Rolled it outside for a better look and to get some daylight pics. :D I don't know how many of these cars were made in Canada, but I'll bet it wasn't many - the "Body by Fisher Canada" tag is kinda kool......

Made some progress on the body structural bracing and the floor subframe in the rear section of the body. [;) Mostly done in 1 x1" with 3/4 x 3/4" around the rear window. I'm going make the quarter windows fixed, so that made it easier to do the framing around them.
It was nice to be able to remove all jungle of temporary bracing at last - it was like climbing around on the monkey bars working aroud it to put in the framework.
The rest of the floor subframe will have to wait 'till I build the frame so I can see where the tranny and driveshaft sit to see how big a tunnel it requires.
Sheeting the floor will also be done after the body is mounted so I have access to stuff instead of crawling underneath.

What did the stock garnish moldings look like in this car? Will that style work with your new structure?

Oh yeah, they will work fine (once I chop them down) and will screw right onto the tubing structure. I will have to add some sheet metal pieces yet to mount the interior panels and to hold a tack strip for the headliner, also to mount headliner bows. Tons of fab to do yet, this is just the basic structure so far.

Put in the tube bracing over the doors and front window, tied the sides of the A pillars into the door frames and added a 2" x 1/8" strip down the door frames. Before going any farther with the structural work, I'm going to measure it all up and start on building the frame.
