I picked up the mini from the body shop Friday
And while I was moving stuff around in the 2nd bay of the garage
I knocked over some metal and right onto the plasma cutter and broke
The torch head.....I ordered another torch for it and it will be in Monday

I have to figure out what I have for the mini so I can get the glass into the car
Because I don’t have room right now to work on the truck

I have to figure out how to post from my phone

But not much is going to happen on the cars this weekend
Today the wife and I hit 17 years married

back home now,

I can re post the mini link from the other day
and have the picture show up here

for some reason the app on my phone links it different then the desk top

Looks good and the color is right on [cl

its ww2 US Army od green vehicle paint

the stuff they repaint museum vehicles from that era with

I wanted the color to be different then any other mini out and about
and I didn't want it to look like any other vehicle that people paint od green,
so I went to the source to get ww2 vehicle paint....plus I used the 111 red oxy primer that helps to get the color correct for that period

its $40 a gallon for prime and $40 for a gallon of paint, cut the paint 1:1
I forget what I used to cut it, but it was from home depot for $20 or so a gallon

$100 for primer and paint is not a bad deal

I got a eastwood bead roller a few weeks ago

just so that I can build some door cards for the mini
and I figure im going to need it for the 37 floor panels

so I figure, the only way to learn how to use it is to jump in head 1st,
my lines are a little off but oh well

only way to get good using a new tools is to put some lines into metal and see what happens

york edc by joa kwin, on Flickr

finally got around to cleaning this York compressor,
it was given to me a few years ago

it had a double v-belt clutch on it, so I pulled that for a serp clutch set up

I have to go buy the metal tomorrow to start building brackets for it

I have some of the metal but not all that I need

I cleaned it and replaced the main crank seal, and painted it,

I had a air gauge hooked up and turned it over with a drill, built up to 30psi

and im good with that for now

pictured in the back ground is one of the flat plate upper arms from Michigan metal works
