got it tucked in now, should clear the hood sides now

started to mock up the calipers to build my own brackets

picked up some new hardware for the spindle to bracket, and my uncle got me 5ea 14mm x 2.0 x 30mm Allen head bolts for the caliper to mount bracket

I picked up the metal to build the bracket as well

my mock up bracket is made out of some pine wood
I ended up making 3 wood mounts overall
make them till I was happy with the fit

I just have to trim the outer edge of the mounts but thats not a big deal

I have a new on/off switch for the mill and 6 new 9/16 end mill bits, that I plan to use on building the vette caliper brackets

after taking two weeks off, kind of

my uncle hooked it up with some allen head 14mm bolts when I was in Seattle,


i changed out the on/off switch in the mill and got to work

milled out one 3/8's caliper bracket

my garage is 94 deg right now and i have to get adjusted to it again

i drank a ton of water while in seattle daily

but that weather was 25-35 deg cooler

used set of 20's that came with new 245/35/20 tires on them
picked them up for $300

to clear the huge z06 rotors and calipers

I painted one of the z06 caliper brackets today, gloss black

and so I mounted them suckers up on one wheel

test fit, I have to get some different size lug nuts, so I only have 3 on the wheel right now

and the caliper is hand tight to the adapter bracket.....I need to buy a 14mm allen head tool

twist my arm, I have to go tool shopping tomorrow, lol

they are different and the stock ones are ugly, and the stock arms needed to be pie cut for ball joint angle
and these flat plate arms dont need it, ball joints still have some travel left in them

I'm just curious why the flat plate ones instead of tubular. Seems like you could get some funny suspension angles?

so far, the ball joints have good angles as the suspension travels
up and down

I haven't done an alignment on the truck yet

last night I stayed up till about 2am working on the left side caliper bracket

took the drop spindle off of the truck and went to town on the bracket,

the bracket I had started to work on, I jacked it up, the bracket lines up on the stock spindle on the money, but it was off a hair on the drop spindle, no idea why but whatever

so I started over on the bracket from scratch, got the metal lined up on my milling machine and went to work,
nice thing about working so late at night is the temp was sitting at about 80 inside my garage

the replacement window seals for the mini came in on Friday

the last ones I ordered, the box was bent in the middle

bent seals dont work to well

so the company shipped me new ones for free, and they covered the four sides of the box in wood, taped the wood to the box, parts made it

the 4 window seals are for the mini, the parts run $100 plus the ride,
so its kind of sucky when parts come in bent in half and are no longer useable right out of the box

s-10 blazer 2 inch drop spindle, dehumped lca, flat plate upper arms, home made caliper bracket, z06 calipers,
home made air bag brackets, SS-7 air bag

worked on this for a little bit today, got the left side mounted
