I finally found a belt/disk sander for the shop. An old Rockwell 12 inch disk with 3/4 horse motor. I was only seeing Chinese stuff or else they were priced through the roof. $180 and it was mine.

Only problem is, I ripped a ligament in my arm lifting it:(. Damn!

The header flange will need the tubing welded on in such a way that it goes up over the frame. I think I can make it work. Because of the suicide axle mount I'm using a Vega box, and cross steer, so the pipe will miss the steering box.

You are right about USPS. Speedway ships UPS, and they double the cost of anything they ship to Canada. It has cost $30.00 for UPS to tell me it's not going to cost me any duty.[S

I am not sure if Speedway still uses UPS, the last two orders I got from them came by way of Fed-Ex. The Fed-Ex driver said he has been delivering a lot of Speedway packages.

Not much progress on the truck, but here is what I've been working on.

Now I can have clean metal any time I want![cl

Thanks Torchie. I still need to tip the tops in. There will need to be some gap adjustment done. On the front edge I will split the door flange, spread it a bit and re weld. At the back of the door... I'm not sure yet. Won't really know until I tip the tops in.

I am thinking that on mine that I will have to add some stock to the door tops to get the gap I want.
That's an old customizers trick I picked up from an old customizer;)
Torchie.

Yupp, that's what it looks like here too. I noticed that there may be some adjustment by making sure the drip rail follows a correct line. Mine have been beat a little over the years, and need just slight work. By hammering on the drip rail flange, I will be able to line things up a little. Every little bit counts on the door gap.

I spent most of the evening arm chair engineering. [S I need to tip the door tops in at the same time I rebuild the tops. That's a lot of flopping... That's what my wife said.

There are lots of little things that can be done to get the gaps where they need to be.
Go easy when you "Tap" on the drip rail as I have had it seperate on me.
I leaned my door tops in before I added the frame pieces so if you do it the other way it will probably work better:D
Torchie.

It's funny how little holds the drip rail on. I might try to do top and tip at same time. I'm camping this weekend with all the kids, so I have time to think.

I think with a bunch of magnets I can get it lined up and throw in some tac welds.

Enjoying the show Gold but not learning anything.....No point, i'm never going to try what you are doing. :D

Hey guys, what do you think of my plan to cut the door? This is how I'm going to tip the tops.

I've been taking it easy lately. My torn Bicep tendon has really put a bind on production. But I'm going to give this a try in the next week or so.

What did Torchir call it when you just sit, look and plan in your head?
