Ouch!!! Hope that your daughter is okay. I'm assuming she slid off the road or hit a deer. Either way, good luck with the jeep.

Her Jeep was the meat in a 3 car sandwich endicott. No one was hurt. This actually happened in the spring and her man has been messing with it for too long since she had another car to drive. But now winter is here for real (3 cars/trucks in the ditch's this morning on my way to town) and Daddy has to take a hand:eek:
Torchie.

So while we wait for the Jeep......

let's start to prep the F series hood for surgery.
Off with the emblems.
Off with the spears.
Off with the paint.

Will not have to strip the entire hood. :D

I may incorporate the side spears into the build. Not sure yet.
Torchie.

I sent it again, but I think I figured it out. Maybe[S

Just a question about the sequence of glass installation. How do I get the glass to go into the channel? Leave the divider mount bolts loose? I might have to get a second pair of Hands to do this right.

I got your PM finally gold.
Sent you one in return.
You might. Or use a wedge or clamp to help hold the glass in place so it doesn't fall back down into the door.Biggest problem is going to be the cramped space in side the door.
I always seem to manage to do it my self. Usually with a fair amount of cuts to the back of my hands.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.
Torchie.

We interrupt our regularly schedueled program....

Well the aforementioned Jeep project finaly made it here last night.
And as I was afraid of it has more damage than I was led to believe.
Got the mangled bumper backer cut off. Straightened out the PS front frame horn and got the new bumber backer fitted in place.:)

Unfortunately the radiator core support took a real beating along the bottom and as as result the radiator is shot. Apparently when she was hit from behind her jeep rode up onto the rear end of a smaller car whose rear bumper did all the damage to the radiator support.:(
So the goal for today is to get the bumper piece secured. Do what I can to straighten the rad suport and see if we can start to fit some sheet metal.
Torchie.
p.s. Sorry for the blurry pics. Haven't had the morning coffee yet.

Yep...what you need is another in depth project....

LOL.....the other project is looking pretty sweat...this one you could do without.....:D...got your email.....I'll explain more in the BS section....keep up the good work....Jeep body man.....sounds like a new profession.... :)

Looks like you have your work cut out for you... =/

You know it DR.
They didn't even know that the rad was shot till I pointed out the crack.[S
Anyway I pulled the rad out and the pic shows the bottom bar of the rad support. And that's not the worst damage.
I told the boyfriend that in MHO the only way to fix it right was to get a new radiator support.$$$
So now we may be delayed until Friday as that will be the soonest it will get here. If that is what they decide to do.

I know it has been a while since I have done any serious collision work, but these things are just 10 gauge sheet metal that has been spot welded to gether.[
And mean while my custom project sits quietly weeping..........
Torchie.

No worries sarge :)
Just go off the phone and they are going to order the new radiator support frame tomorrow.
We call the gal that owns the jeep our daughter. We took her in a few years ago when she needed some help and she considers us her parents. So I guess she is our daughter:):)

Minor front frame horn damage which I fixed in about 30 mins. the rad suport is spot welded in so that's going to take some drilling. Hope to have it out tomorrow.

Hell far Torchie, go get some of the little lady's wrinkle cream that stuff will take care of almost anything [S
Does look like ya have a little work ahead of you [P
I'm in the same boat as you.
My Daughter worked Christmas eve, on her way home the next morning, some a$$ hole ran the stop sign and she hit him with her left front.
He immediately took off and we haven't found him yet
She's OK but, the ***** didn't even stop to find out :mad:

As with many of us that are parents we have been thru a few interesting ordeals. The first thing I always ask upon getting the phone call is wether or not they are all right. One of my daughters commented on this once and I said, "well, that way i know wether I can yell at you or not".[cl[cl[cl
