Heeding my Drs advice to "stay off of that leg" I did all of this sitting down.[ddd
Pics 1-3. Trimmed down the riser base's some more. They sit practicaly flat on the floor now. Enough of the riser left to bolt to the floor.

Pic 4. Bolted the F series seat frame on to the riser and this is how much clearence it has above the floor. It can be spaced up if neccesary.

Pic 5. Set the board I cut on top of the frame and here is the view out of the windshield.[cl
Started to do some research into seat padding and it appears that I can get away with 2". Also will go and talk with a guy I know that does upholstery work for his input.
I,ve got some foam pads here and tomorrow I will do some experimenting with them to see how it feels.
Also going to address the seat back issue as well.

Looks like you have it figured out for a good view. Hopefully it will be comfy enough. The little bench I'm using(2nd or 3rd row bench out of a van) looks to be only 2" of padding and it feels ok to me.

3rd row van seats are commonly used for just that reason smallfoot. Nice and thin. Especialy the early Mopar ones.
And lets face it. I can't drive cross country in a new car so I'm sure not going to be driving cross country in my custom.
I've got a 1-1/2 inch thick piece of memory foam from my wheel chair that I will try in there tomorrow as well as a 2 inch thick piece of some dense foam rubber.

Here's my current state since my last post.
Not wearing the leg as it is causing problems. They have started casting a new one as well as making some mods to the current one which will allow me to use it once the stump heals up.
Kind of cuts into my shop time.
Did have some help over tonight so we stripped some needed parts.
Got the hood catch bolt from the F series hood as the one on the 41 car hood was cut off.
Also pulled the outer grills from the original 41 fenders. These are in good shape and a great canidates for rechroming.
That's about it for now. Hope to hear some good news from the Drs tomorrow.

My $.02 is that the seat bottom does not need to be flat. It needs to be scooped out to be more butt-shaped. Same thing goes for the back when you get to it.

That is my butt shape Flipper. Flat.[ddd
There may be a wedge shape to the bottom as I plan on padding up the front edge of the seat bottom. The back has yet to be determined. Thanks for the ideas.

Hey torchie: take your time and heal up. on the seat issue I've found that dense foam or closed cell foam works best on the couple of motorcycle seats I've done . It doesn't have to be as thick to give good support.

That's exactly what I have been looking at kenny. Memory foam is alright but it is also affected by temprature so if it is cold the foam gets hard and doesn't respond. I'm thinking that it is not going to be much thicker than 2"s.

Just got back from my wound care people and all looks good.[cl
Their recomendation though is to stay out of the leg and come see them in a week.
I've gone 8 years with out having any stump ulcers and now 2 in about a month. And they happen real quick. So the wheelchair is my ride for now. And caution is the watch word.......
My leg guys have started on my new leg as well but that entire process usualy takes about 6 weeks.
As my dear old Grand Dad used to say to me. "Boy. It's a great life if you don't weaken"...
