WOW!!! what a response and all over the board as far as what everybody else likes....I am still debating between a few...maybe 4 or 7...4 might be better for the shifter wouldn't be in the way of hiding the gauges but I like 7...10's not bad either and I like 2 as well[S...I cut the main structure for the dash and mocked it up....once I decide which gauge layout I am going to use I can cut all the holes in the dash for them and the switches...I will then make an aluminum cover for it and fill it full of rivits and black out the rings for the gauges...bomber style...lots of work left but now it's starting to be creative:)

1 4 or 10.....it's one of those things that I obsess over as well.....and 6 months from now you'll be lucky to remember what the fuss was all about.....

I like your seats, especially the green color. Really adds to the bomber look. Did you make them?
Keep up the good work.

-Chris

Still uncertain about the gauge layout but I cut the main dash panel out and installed it...also made some seat mounts for they did not come with any....they were a ebay purchase that I got from a guy in California...he painted one green but I wasn't concerned for it will fit into my build theme anyway...mounted the seats...should work out fine

Shop's a mess...took time out to clean up a bit, metal filings from zip cuts were all over and cardboard from templates and tools lost and.....you get the picture...anyway after cleaning up for a while I dug out the stainless tank that I had the local Hutterite Colony make for me....I wish I had there shop and equipment...It was the last piece that needed to be fit into the chassis at the rear....fit like a glove...tight one but fit nice...Then I could fit in the close out panels and the top cover....inside structure DONE...Finally...time to move on to mounting the steering box and making the steering column.

Steering box

Put all the pieces together for the steering box...I used a vega style box and used the same design that I used on my 32 ford truck build...It will fit in with my build theme as well

Steering Column

Built the steering column out of 3/4 '' steel shaft, a couple of bearings and some 2" exhaust pipe...used a quick release coupler and a universal at the box....used a template to mark all the holes for the machine gun look and drilled 69 holes to finish it off ...I will paint the column black when its all done.

Front Shock brackets

changed out the radius rods for the other ones I had were a little short and the rod ends were threaded out to far...once I had the longer ones in place I made shock mounts in them and got the front shocks mounted

Chop!!!

Marked the roof for a 5" chop but once I had it cut and set back in place before I cut the bottom of the metal off I decided to go with 4 1/2''...things would just line up better:cool::cool:

Chop!!

Started lining things up and welding the roof back on...pretty straight forward but the posts are slanted a bit and a little care is needed to realign things up...couldn't get the clamps to quite reach at the rear so a block of steel and a ratchet strap works to suck the metal together...been working pretty steady in my so called spare time to try and get this thing done for spring...lots of hrs.

Windshield Frame

Got the windshield frame cut down and remounted...broken bolts that needed to be redrilled and tapped...also relocated the top hinge on the door and remounted it
