That is an interesting idea...might have to give it a go. As for the title, I registered her fat ass as a 28 pierce arrow (numbers on the frame)...got plates in about 3 minutes!

Been a while...not 100% done, but enough to run and show. Had a blast this season! Took her to a few shows, won...score! Anyways, put the old updraft intake back on, installed a u-pipe with a flange and mounted a 1bbl carb. Runs great! I'm sure I've done a ton since last updating here, but I was in a mad rush to get her out before the end of the season.
Also got invited to showcase her at the Motorama in March, guaranteed spot! Should be fun...

that thing is wicked cool man! and the fact that jay leno stopped by your garage just makes it better! I have a lot of respect for him with his car collection and after watching him in some videos with Tim Allen, who ive always held in high regard. that's just plain cool! good work!

ok, I just scored 2 Ford 3.8 superchargers (free! and brand new!). I know you know where I am going with this....anyone aware of a straight 8 being supercharged, or dual superchargers?

ok kids, so the intake is the original updraft intake. I fabbed a "u" pipe from it and mounted a downdraft carb. She runs pretty good for the most part. The problem I am having is that she runs rich after she heats up. From what I figured, the cause of this is that the fuel is atomizing, then turning back into fuel and pooling in the "u" pipe, thus, making her run rich after, say, 15 minutes. I tapped into the exhaust manifold and plumbed 1/4" copper tubing to the "u" pipe and coiled it around to keep the pipe warm (it gets ice cold and sweats like a pig), BUT, the cold kicks the heat right out of the park! My second thought is to maybe tap into the coolant lines and see if that helps warm the pipe up.
The key, I believe, is to get the "u" pipe warm on a constant basis, as it doesn't run rich until the pipe gets cold and sweats. But this seems to be challenging. Any ideas out there??
