Well... when I 1st saw this orange Crosley... I wanted one! My main focus will be to finish up my Ford PU but will work on this when I get a chance. I have the 415HP 350 Chev that just came out of my Chevelle & a 350 tranny that came out of my Nova. I have the front end off my '41 Ford PU so all I need now is a frame which I'll build outta 2x3 rectangular tubing, a narrowed rear end & some wheels & rubber. I might even build a 3/4 size car or a crazy motorcycle with the Crosley's lil 25ci 4 banger if I can get it strted. Here's a picture of my lil gray Crosley, my 350 motor while it was in my Chevelle & a picture of the lil Crosley motor. I'm building this car to pull wheelies... that outta be fun!!!

Then you could meet up with Bob W and have a match race....you might have to spot him a few car lengths though

I've always admired that crazy orange Crosley Tripper! Glad you found one. I'm really anxious to see your build.

I got one of them Crosley Wagons too. Great little economy cars.
Knowing you, your Crosley will be awesome!

Bob,
Thanks... got any interior shots!? My Uncle had one years ago, green with yellow panels! I'm thinkin' about paintin' mine with colored spray-on bed liner!

Not much Crosley left inside this one. I've wanted to try bed liner. It should look real good.

Here's a chassis shot. This chassis was under my Fiat. It took a little roll cage modification and a frame extension in the rear to pick up the longer Crosley body (extension not done in the pic). The wheelbase is 95". There is a narrow Magnum tube axle in front on coilovers with Wilwood brakes and Geo rack & pinion steering. Magnum will make an axle any width you want. Just some information that might be helpful.

I've always like the Crosley rods. Maybe one day. Will follow this one closely.

Evidently I need to get out more cuz I've never seen one of these before. What a great ride. Perfect ratrod material. Cant's wait to watch this one come together.

this will be a fun build to watch. if you extend the front out like that, please fill the front wheel wells.

Or fill 'em with pipes!

I always thought the displaced wheel wells looked off too, but function over form any day. Those bubbly fenders are too cool.

Yeah... I'm gonna have some kool zoomies comin' out the front wheel wells sorta like this one!

IMO the zoomies will look the best. Filled wells would have to much panel area, and the original wells would look the best (as compared to the brown car's reformed wells). If the orange one had zoomies comin' out the wheel wells, it would look perfectly balanced. (just noticed it has capped headers sticking out)

Anyway, I vote for zoomies.

I've put this build off for quite a while but it's in the shop lookin' at me every day beggin' to be worked on. I was toolin' around the shop today and decided to see if the 400+hp 350 I pulled out of the Chevelle when I dropped the LS3 in the hole would still turn over... it did... SO... I'm thinkin' about slippin' the Crosley up to the front of the que & usin' the 350 for a fun lil ride! Looks pretty easy to pull the body off the frame & I think I might be able to use the front suspension & rear end for another funky project! Thinkin' about a pretty minimalist build & think I could knock it out fairly quick... we'll see! [S:eek::D

Tripper I had the idea of a quick build on the ( F-305) truck and its being stalled out on every corner . supposed to be a quick chevy engine swap to a ford truck body .. all is going smooth , but cant get to work on it , every thing else is getting in the way . wish you luck ..
