Thank you!

Heh, that is the fiancee's lions hat, she had her head turned in the pic! ;)
Made me laugh however! [cl

Thanks for the comments, stance is still bugging me, but it looked good at ride height when I had it all blocked up...

One more pic

just not right being up so high in the back is all... It will come down when the weight is on it... =)

Thanks everyone!

can you channel the bed onto the rails to drop it??

Or didn't you want to do that....I'm sure you'll think of something....you always seem to find the right way to go.....I kinda dig the stance...not your average pickup bed by any means... JMHO...

I can kinda dig the stance too! If I was going to change anything it would be the angle the bed goes up at, but other than that, I think once you put the tank in the back and it is loaded it might change your opinion on it...... The other side to that though as the tank level goes down, the bed starts coming back up...... [S I say ditch the springs and go for bags in the rear. Then you can get what ever hieght you want whenever you want it!

DR I see you have a sloped drive way, things in the background have a way of making things look off, turn it around and it will look way different. Don't think about it or it will drive you crazy, just get it loaded down and on a flat surface. Looking good DR.

Once I get the panhard bar on I'll probably put it at ride height and have a look again...
I'm hoping to cut the plates after work today, I'm going to shorten the bar right at the end so I'll have to press out the bushing, cut, weld and press it back in...

I also have to cut some tubing to complete the front mounts yet... I have the sizes, but that might wait til next week...

Little more progress, and ride height shown makes me happier

I had a chance to have some panhard bar brackets laser cut today, so I took the steel over and had them cut, saved me couple hours on the band saw.

Also cut the panhard bar, and its full of steel shot ? [S I'm thinking that is not going back into the bar unless someone has a reason... I'm sure it was to quiet vibration or harmonics on the mustang.

Also cut some tubing to cut up to finish the front suspension mounts.

I ratchet strapped the frame down to the axle to get the ride height, which makes me happier, looks like moving the cab up a little will get it where everything looks right to my eye.

Finally lined up a tank for the truck as well, now I just have to find a way to pay for it...:(

I have put steel shot in my drive shafts for off road. Kept it balanced after I bumped it on rocks and such. Not sure why in a pan hard bar[S

Exactly right.....to dampen harmonics of suspension

also reduce noise level from same....don't think you'll need it since none if it would be of a distraction....

ford is classic for putting band aids on instead of fixing the engineering issues. You will find all kinds of cheap vibration or noise fixes like shot in the panhard bar, big weights attatched to the rea end, calipers, exhaust etc. [S

I always loved the drive shaft vibration dampers

Like the ones on the M-Van...astro's and safari's and the like.....seen them on a ton of vehicles fromt he late 80's and early 90's...you'd think they could resolve those issues in engineering not in adding things to mask it....as was said...puttin a bandaid on it...

Well today was a good day, I've lined up a fuel tank, and I sold some parts tonight so I am almost 1/2 way there to paying for the tank... still have to get shipping quotes from AZ through work.

Also, out of the blue, one of members from I think the Old GMC Trucks site saw my post looking for a grille, and sent me a message, so after the new year I think I'll pick that up, I really like the way the stock GMC grille looks all patina'd up...

Yep, with the suspension tied down the lines look very good. Kinda important to do something in the front that compliments the design of the back half. All the suspension work looks top notch.

When you build something this radical you are bound to get a few "dislikes". On the other hand, the people that like it will love it.
