Looking good DR.
I've been watching your progress during my down time.
Lots of good ideas and craftsmanship there.
Keep it up.

POPS

Finally feeling a little better so I can work on the dang rat!

Ok, well, I decided to rake the cab at least 1" from front to back, which means I may have to re-trim the body panels on the rear, but I like the rake better, hoping to get the rear strapped down again to see how it looks with some rake to the cab.

Anyhow, fabbed up the frame and body mounts to use the stock ford body mounts, and finally cut off all the temporary mounts. [;)[;)[;)

Looking good!! Maybe one of these days I will get back to work on mine so maybe I can drive and enjoy mine this summer.... With the two job thing goin on right now I don't hardly have time for anything. Kind of getting frustrated with that right now.

Small update, found that Advance Auto has grade 10.9 bolts for the important stuff for very cheap from Dorman. I got 12mm x1.75 x 100mm long with nuts for $1.29 ea... thats cheap in my opinion....

Anyhow, those are for the body mount bolts, which is the same grade Ford uses...

Tomorrow night I'm jacking the body off the frame to finish welding all the mounts.

Well, I didn't get out there to finish weld the mounts, but I did manage to do some more planning for the floor, at least in my head... I think its time to get some thin card board and start mocking up a floor.

Also, I have great news, my propane tank is finally on its way, and I also managed to score a second multivalve, should I ever need a replacement. This has been a long time coming, but its finally on its way....

Thanks! I am excited to get that thing mounted on the frame!

Anyhow, did some floor work here and there, I changed direction to a square tunnel so I can put a console on top with an arm rest for storage.

Anyhow couple pics:

Hey DR,

This is looking good. How heavy is the tubing your using? What gauge of sheet metal will you cover it with?

I built/rebuilt a bead roller so I could do floor pans. The truck I bought has a good floor though. Thank goodness for oil leaks and its rust preventing ability.

I was looking forward to making some floor pans. It will wait for next time. Your floor pans would look good with a few beads rolled in. Especially in your tunnel.

Yea I have a bead roller, the plan was some offsets with the offset wheels, not sure shape or design yet, need to sketch something up by hand. The tubing is fairly thin, I'll have to measure, maybe .050-.060" wall?

I have to measure the sheet stock I have, its pretty thin, I have to decide if its thick enough for my liking... I'll be adding more bracing and some heavier areas where necessary, and a driveshaft loop with a removable lower area.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Back at it today, a lot of cutting, removing old braces, removed the dash, cut the firewall, and tied in the console area to the firewall.
I started on the curved pieces for the cab corners as well.

Also planning on re-engineering the shift cable setup, as it was in my way.

I'm hoping to skin some of the console area tomorrow, and maybe build more of the skeleton for the tunnel.

Just a couple pics:

I finished up the passenger side to match what I got done on the driver's side.
Seems like slow going, mainly because I have to cut up the racks from the van for the 1" square tube for the floor... I'm almost out of tubing, so I'm going to have to buy some....

I will hopefully start making the floor pans tomorrow night...
Side note, 1" thin wall tubing does not bend as well as thicker wall 3/4" tubing... Seems like the thicker wall doesn't kink as easily.. I ended up just slicing the tubing for the cab corners to make the curve, and welding it back together.

I also threw in the seat base in to see how it will look/fit...

Yes, that interior floor framing goes pretty slow. Sheeting it in is the payoff. It's looking very good.

Great news, finally the tank is here!

:D:D:D

Tank is here, seemingly only missing a sending unit, which means I should have spares of everything, and hopefully only have to mock up the sending unit from the other tank to make it work.

However I have not opened it up yet to verify there is a pump inside either.
