Nice, Nice, NICE!!![cl

GREAT work, man![;)

The peak and louvers are both nice, traditional touches which are DEFINATELY an enhancement.

You're a very lucky man to have ladies around willing to not only put up with the "car nonsense" but also jump right in and help!

Thanks for sharing your progress, I'm really enjoying what you've gotten done.

Regards,
Shea:)

Thanks guys. I have more to post. I had to run today when I was updating the page. The Scroungers CC took a ride through the country side today to hit a small car show they have about an hour away from town. I just made it back so I'll try to add some more.

I bought a seal from LMC and I grabbed a windshield at the last swap meet I went to. I stuck the seal on the truck for a couple days to try to get it to form. I didn't care for the way it fit on the glass.

I have put in a few windshields and hardly ever have trouble. This one was a pain. Amy and I messed with it for what seemed like hours. I couldn't get it to go in.

I tried different ways but nothing seemed to work. I was getting mad by this time. Johnny and Randy stopped down and they gave it a shot.

Late that night I finished putting in the rearend.

I need some rims for this project. Black steelies maybe? Anyone have a pair? Two Chevy BP and two Ford BP?

The next day I figured I'd be up to getting that windshield in. Amy came out and we fought with it and almost had it. When it would get close the rope would slip right out. We had it other than the top section. All 4 corners were in! I have never seen one give anyone such a fit. So close but she wouldn't go.

I pushed a little too hard and she busted. There goes my money, all tied up in busted shivers of fine glass all over. :(

After it was busted it really didn't matter on how rough I was. So I beat and pushed trying to get it to seat. It wouldn't. Only thing I could think of was either I just can't put glass in or the windshield was cut wrong.

I was crushed. I'm on a strict budget and that screw up just busted that budget. John Howard's glass guy came to the rescue. I wasn't going to try it again after busting one. He found me a windshield for $200.00 and a little over $100.00 to come down and put it in.

I had scratched my freshly paint dash trying to get the first windshield in, so late the night before he came I repainted the dash, windshield lip and shot the rest of the inside of the cab.

The windshield Rich brought down was twice as thick as the one I bought at the swap meet and it was tinted and the top was shaded. The one I bought was clear. VERY CLEAR! I really like the one he brought.

He got it to were I got it too and I then told him that is where I got stuck. He smiled and said it will go. You just have to work with it a little. His little was like a fat chick at a buffet. It didn't stop. He smacked and pushed and beat but no way. I thought for sure he was going to break this one. He messed with it for a long time. He hit this glass a lot harder than I did when the first one busted.

The glass guy kept thinking and told me he thought it was the seal. I was already thinking the same thing. Two pieces of glass and they are stuck in the same spot?

He started peeling the windshield back out of the truck. That was scary too.

He whipped out a razor blade and trimmed the top and bottom of the LMC seal.

Let's try this again. The rope goes in and the glass is set up on the cab.

It took a little bit of tugging, pushing, pulling and smacking but the glass finally seated after a while.

Here is some of the seal that was holding us up.

Someone paint over the light with primer. I sanded it down and shot some cheezy silver on it. I tried to clean up the lens but it won't get any cleaner than that. I even took a grey scuffing pad to it trying to get some white out of it but it didn't work. I'll buy a new lens later.

I couldn't figure out why the dash had so many holes drilled in it. I had seen some chrome in the box when I got the truck and thought it went on this truck. It doesn't
Someone took the chrome off a dash of some car and tried to stick it on this truck. It was all screwed up. I wasn't about to fill all those holes so I had to drill my own and get this chrome piece where it would fit right. I'm pretty happy with it. If you didn't know better you would think it's factory. It covers up the ash tray but no biggie. I like the chrome now that it fits better.

Aryan and I tossed the grille on. What a pain. The front of the truck is so out of wack that nothing bolted up easy. I even had to use a bumper jack to get one side to line up with the bolt holes. I pulled all the old clips out and bought new nuts and bolts so I could get everything tight.
