Well... we sold our house & are staying on the Tejas Gulf Coast while we remodel our new place. Any tips on keeping cars from rusting in a seaside environment?! Thanks in advance!!!

Surely the simplist and most rust protective thing you could do would be to ship it up to me.....I will take very good care of it till you get away from such a harsh enviroment..... :D

theres NOTHING you can do - ive lived on the texas gulf coast just about my entire life -- just keep it washed and out of the salt air as much as possible.

In Hawaii, they wash the car top and bottom frequently. If its long term storage, California Covers has a capsule you drive the car into, electric fan ventilation and packets that absorb moisture.

How far away from the coast do you need to be to get away from salt air?
I live 2 miles from the coast and now my fenderwell headers need rust removal and re-painting. Even ceramic coating can't stop the rust unless the car is in a garage. When I lived 7 miles away, it wasn't a problem.

it will still rust, just not as quickly -- the gulf coast humidity is on average is about 90% in the morning and 65 in the afternoon -- and thats salty gulf air humidity -- keeping it indoors or a garage helps, and of course the further you get away from the water the better -- but theres really nothing muc you can do -- best to just keep your cars washed and try not to have exposed metal lol
