Did anyone see the episode of Auction Hunters the other night (the show with Alan and Ton) where they bought a locker and found a belly tank bonneville racer inside ? I realize the show is as phony as a $3 bill, but the belly tanker was pretty neat. It was made out of a P38 belly tank, had a V8 60 flathead engine, and some very old timey parts on it.

I thought what was funny was that when they uncovered it they had no idea what it was, but somehow they found "experts" who restore them and of course the guys had $ 8100 cash on them to buy it on the spot.

But it was a cool old car that someone built back in the day.

As usual, the whole thing was fake. The experts were "The Old Crow Speed Shop" crew. They owned that belly tank car before AND after it was supposedly "found" in that warehouse. I don't watch any of the reality crap anymore. I don't care if there are cars on there or not. It's all just insulting. I'd rather do something else.

That makes sense, Bill. All those shows are starting to be like Operation Repo, where they go out on a repo and a bunch of circus clowns attack them.

It's just like American Pickers where they walk up unannounced to a door and when the people come out they never ask "What is the camera for ?" All of it is staged. Makes the Kardashians look like real life,

I have seen that episode although I don't watch the show much. I find those guys less annoying than many of the phony "reality" shows. I used to watch storage wars but it had too many annoying people. I watched it a lot longer than I would have, just to see Brandy's rack.

Yes!!! Someone else gets it!!! [cl

One of the guys on the show from the old crow is a friend of mine and did the frame mods on my 38 GMC.
Hollywood has been good to his waist...;)

Same here ;)

I'm still trying to find those pictures of her from her stripper days that I always hear about.

Now to the original theme of this thread: I thought when a car was in those lockers the car couldn't be sold with the locker because it might be stolen - ?

I got distracted, I thought the theme of this thread WAS Brandi's rack:D:D

I liked the car, even if the story was fake..

I don't catch many tv shows, but have noticed the storage locker shows, have a junk locker with all trash, and the very last thing they find in there is a pricless Ming vase in the back, that the previous owner forgot about. I always keep my pricless Ming vase in the very front of my storage locker, so I know the shows are fake.

I get a kick out of them finding stuff worth $10,000 that the people leot get re poed for $1200 rent or so. I would borrow the money and give someone double thier money back rather than lose it all.

Brandy's ****s, someplace back in my old mind i think i remember what they were for[S Wait!!!! i remember, their earmuffs[dr

My wife worked for a storage place 8 years ago and said the show is over played. If someone lost there storage unit they had to cut the lock and do and inventory the best they could with out moving things. She said they really had to watch who did the inventory because if someone saw something they like they would just grab it. Also the hardcore buyer would kick a little cash to someone if they got a led from the storage place on a good unit (inventory and pics, or even let them come by and look). If there was a car in the unit they would have to police come out and run the vin first to make sure it wasn’t stolen, other then that a person would have to apply for a title. Also staged unit would happen, it was a easy way for someone to get rid of their yard sale goods. At the storage place my wife worked at it would take 30 days from the time someone is given notice (usually after your late 30 days) to an auction, the owner had 21 days to pay to get their unit back. The storage place would have 30 days of access to any unit.

american pickers

the american pickers show will get a lead on someone, call the person, say hey were coming by, do the whole pick, and all they have for a film crew is 1 cameraman and a boom mic guy. what they DONT tell you is after the show and money has exchanged hands, that you get a w-1092 for taxes. happened to a guy i know, he wouldnt sign the release forms and told them he wanted his stuff back here was their money. he said they spent all day at his place and spent about 15k. so ya getting a tx form really sucked for him when he is on a fixed income and SS.

I'm getting tired of all the spin off shows, like that stupid new one with the Count from Pawn Stars. Next it will be the guy from the museum who authenticates things for them, and then Chumley will have a reality show ! (Insert gagging icon here)

Good thing we have the internet for real entertainment. :D

Don

Did you ever wonder how the camera got in the house or shed that hadn't been opened for 10 years BEFORE they even get in there? Fake

When they film them pulling into the drive way, I catch it every time.

When my show starts, we will do it COPS style. Que the music....." Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do? What you gonna do when they come for you? "

TV.

I agree with Don that the newest crap show Counting Cars is as bad as they get. The only thing interesting on the storage war show is to see what the Barry guy is going to drive up in next.
