The season is upon us. I love auctions, almost as much as a good junkyard crawl. I went to a good one Monday and 2 yesterday. Monday I bought, among other things, a pile of tires for $6. Later a horse trailer sells and I notice one of my tires is the spare, approach the guy and sell him his spare for $20, we are both happy.
Yesterday I filled my Subby wagon and had to send stuff home with a friend. I bought a nice little 1/2 horse Sanborn compressor for $4, supposedly not working. All it needed was the pipe from the compressor to the tank replaced, runs right up and shuts off now. Also got the big 920 Jonsered saw for $30. I cleaned it up and dumped in fresh gas, popped her right off. Nice little 2000# Superwinch still in the box for $17.50. And purple tailights, who ever heard of those?

Yeah, I'm an auction junkie myself. Grew up around it, the auction barns were right across the street from us. Small town Saturday night, things were real busy and hopping when the farm families came to town. Started working there when I was 12 years old. Running the weiner pigs to the ring and back to the pens. Made a whole three bucks a night and smelled like the pigs, or they smelled like me, not sure. 6 years ago I went to Auctioneer school in Woodstock Ontario. Have my diploma, had a few auctions. Still practise while driving, sure have sold a lot of fence posts, and telephone poles, and passing cars while driving. Yep, I love auctions too. Sniper

Count me in as a guy who buys way too much stuff cause it is just too cheap, I may or may not "need" it. I hit as many good ones as I can. I have favorite auctioneers, and ones I don't like. They have to have really good stuff for me to spend a day with them.

Yes, auctions are great. I used to go to all the time several years ago. Speaking of those tailights Willowbilly, I found about 10 - 3" round purple glass tailight lens' a couple of weeks ago for $2.00 ea. at one of my frequent junk parts stops. They were "new" old stock parts. I thought to myself too, "who ever heard of those?" I knew afterwards I should have bought several. I might go back and grab a few just to keep.

We used to mount them under the dash to light up the floor area, and one in the upper top corners of each side of the windshield. Called them "sex" lights! They did come in handy for finding your socks. Sniper
