I'm with Torchie. I'm not a fan of most of his builds either. The cars are more art than something you would put much mileage on. As we all know, art is a very personal taste. His Bugattis's are cool. I find it amazing that he can see the beginnings of one in the car bodies he starts with. His personality is such he can't spend hours on a single panel on the English wheel or whatever. He gets his results with a minimum of specialized equipment. He keeps talking about getting things done quickly. I'm glad he is willing to display his techniques.
I could be wrong but I believe the radical customers of the past didn't do much fine panel shaping and fitting. Not like the custom coach builder's did. Torchie would know better than me but I think they bent the metal to get it close and leaded or Bondo'd to sculpt the desired shape.
Anyhoo, I watch most every night even though his repetitiveness gets to me. I do learn from him. But I'm sure I'm a better chassis builder than Bad Chad.
