I don't believe in buying cars for my kids but I made a deal with them. Whatever they save I will match up to a certain amount.
This car was parked down the street from our house, collecting rust.
It was purchased out of Dallas in 2006 for our neighbors daughter who contracted cancer and passed away in 2008.
It has sat ever since, the mother was emotionally attached and would only sell to teenage girl.
My daughter fell in love with it and made her an offer on her own. $800 dollars and the deal was struck, $400 from my daughter and $400 from me.
85k miles on it. Interior is all original and perfect. Minor surface rust and one rotted floor board.
Put in a new battery, new wires, etc. and she runs like a top.
A little sanding, paint, etc. and my daughter, who is doing most of the work, will have a 1963 beetle when she gets her license.
Should be a blast working on it with her.
She is going to get on RRR on keep her build posted and up to date.
