I've owned my Ranchero for about 8 or 9 years & drove it for a couple years B4 I realized it had an 8-track player & have been looking for a kool 8-track to put in it when I go to shows. Mrs Tripper & I went antiquin' today & I found a Village People tape for $2! And yes... it has Macho Man & YMCA... haha!!!

I was just thinking, you better keep looking for more tapes anyhow. Remember how they'd get ate up - you'll need backups!

Hey Bob,
Not that I'm old and hold onto things forever but I've still got the 8 track
Deck and a case full of tapes that was in my first three vehickys. I plan on putting it in my old Dodge. I could be talked into parting with one tape, maybe. Might not be as uppity as the village people but.....I'll dig them out if you're
interested.
I loved that thing so much I took it out of my '70 Chevelle and put it up when I sold the car before I went to Vietnam.
Don't know how many tapes I flung out the window after being ate or eaton.
Thanks for bringing up the topic, brings back memories of the good old days of terrorizing the streets and surviving.

Thanks guys but not really gonna listen to the tapes, just wanna stick one in when I go to shows. They weren't really that good even back in the day & like SF says... they got chewed up so easy & often. I just thought it would be funny to have it stickin' in the deck! When I bought it, the woman asked... "WHAT kinda car do you have that would play this"! Haha![ddd[S:cool:

"Dark Side of the Moon" on 8-track got me home on many a late night out. I think it's great that it's still selling on whatever the latest, greatest music device is out there now.

Me too Don, Laid the tape on top of the player, pulled the lever to lock it in. When one side was done playing you pulled another lever to change to the other side. There weren't as many songs on the 4 tracks as on the 8 tracks. Most of these guys never heard of a reverberator either. Remember playing 45 records in your car? Really only worked well when you were parked.
